People were not kidding when they say this holster is amazing. I feel more confident holstering my gun with the sturdy retention and guard. It does hold with a inforce light or no light at all. Does take practice to draw it quicker since you have to unlock and move the guard then unlock the gun itself. But it's easier after practicing for a bit. Great retention - exactly what you'd expect from the Level III retention which is advertised. The hood makes it very hard for bad guys to take it away from you when holstered. It is also solidly built and doesn't seem like it'll fail in a stressful situation even after years of use - though of course only time will tell. It didn't seem to need a break-in period; it fit my 5" Govt 1911A1 (with adjustable rear sight) perfectly right out of the box. If you're used to lower (or no) retention levels, I'd very strongly recommend diligently practicing your draw from this holster - at least 200 practice draws before you strap it on and take it out in public. I moved from an IWB holster to this one, and my draw is almost as fast with this holster as with my IWB (which had Level 0 retention). I have no doubt that with a little practice, I'll equal (if not surpass) my IWB draw speed and smoothness. One thing which you might find helpful is to view the Safariland videos on YouTube which show you the proper technique for a fast smooth draw from this holster - for me, the critical part was the part which said to get a natural operating draw grip on the gun, which very naturally disengages the ejection port lock mechanism. Without this tip, I was taking about half a second more to explicitly use my thumb to disengage this lock. However, on viewing the video I tried the technique mentioned therein, and found that it was much smoother, quicker and more natural. Oh, I must mention that I got the Left-hand version (I'm cross-dominant). Finding good quality left-hand-draw holsters is often troublesome, so kudos to Safariland for making this a standard option. Excellent holster. I bought this to replace a Blackhawk duty holster, as it did not fit the Stream Light TL-1 product. This Safariland does fit. It took me a little bit to get used to the release mechanism, it was similar to one I trained with, so defeating the hood was no issue, but it took about 20-30 reps for the thumb release to make sense, and then a lot more to become natural. With the light on the handgun, you have to allow for almost an inch of extra length to your draw, since the light overhangs the barrel, if that makes sense. Ensure your elbow really cocks up as you draw to clear the holster. In most holsters you generally slot the weapon straight back down into it, but if you have the light, you almost need to on an angle, i.e. putting the light on the edge of the holster, and then rolling the gun up and down in the same motion. It's hard to explain, but you basically will have trouble slotting the weapon straight back down because the light catches. I haven't given it a five star rating yet, because I haven't had enough time with it to confirm it's true field experiences. I can say once I got used to it, no drama. I am disappointed that the part connecting to the belt isn't able to be screwed down to lock it into place on the gun belt, apparently you can buy additional attachments for this, or say if you want to drop the holster lower etc. Either way, I'm happy with it for now. ... show more

First of all you will have to do some minor filing on the underside of the holster to help the trigger guard slide in more smoothly. Now feel free to order somewhere else and wait 3-4 months to get a Safariland duty holster for a 45 right now since covid has limited production... That being said it’s a good fit once you file it down to smooth out the kydex a little bit. Yes the actual model 45 holster would be ideal but 15 minutes of modification saves about 20 bucks and also means getting pretty much the exact same holster now and not months from now. ... show more

This holster is durable and a great value for the money. The feature I appreciate the most is that it has two locking mechanisms. This gives you confidence that if you are hands on with someone it will be harder for your sidearm to be taken. Also, even if the first locking mechanism is secure you can draw your weapon quite fast. If you are at the range conducting a qualification you can release the first locking mechanism for an even quicker draw. ... show more

So for all those M&P 2.0 9mm full-size w/ thumb safety(5") on the fit chart it says that the 6360 will fit with the olight PL valkyrie but it won't unless you remove the retention screw at the end of the holster (seen in photo) after doing so holster worked and operated just fine
