  • Sabian quality always impresses
Size: 20" Style: Ride
I recently purchased this Sabian and also got Meinl HCS hi hats and a China. WOW, talk about a huge difference! The Meinl cymbals are heavy, dull and sonically harsh. I'll stick with Sabian from here on out. This ride is heavy, but sonically it sounds really good. The Bell has clear tonal attack and the taper and bow offer nice variance with a controllable wash. This sounds like a rock/metal/country ride, but most entry level cymbals usually try to accommodate most mainstream music. Ther SBR line is Sabian's entry level, but compared to the Meinl HCS cymbals THERE IS NO COMPARISON. Sabian is far better quality and sound for the same price. Their B8X line is even better for not much more money. ... show more

  • Great value and quality cymbal for beginning drummers and pros alike!
Size: 20" Style: Ride
This ride cymbal is an incredible value for the price. The cymbal has a warm rich tone and is made of high quality brass. I started my musical journey in 1965 as a pop/rock drummer until the late 60's. Over the years I've learned to play guitars, keyboards and bass as well but this year, 47 years later I've decided to resume playing drums again. This cymbal I purchased from Amazon is one of the best I've ever played. ... show more

  • Great Beginner Cymbal!
Size: 20" Style: Ride
I am beyond surprised with this cymbal! Theres many cheap cymbals across the internet but by far this cymbal sounds the best. The sound is very good for $80, it's great for genres such as rock or even jazz for that matter, as a jazz drummer it doesn't sound half bad but of course if you want serious jazz sound you'll have to save up a lot. If you hit the cymbal right, you can get a bit of a crash, it'll have a nice heavy crash sound which I kinda dig. The bell is not the greatest, I'll admit it's probably the worst sounding bell I've heard but it may be better for other players. This ride cymbal is definitely a great beginner option and I'll definitely keep this for a while. ... show more

  • Very Nice!
Size: 20" Style: Ride
Very good Cymbal. I like larger ride cymbals so this was a great size. The price was good for SBR/budget cymbals. Sounds really nice and has a really good sounding bell.

  • Possible 5 star, Edit: now 5 star
Size: 20" Style: Ride
I may edit this to a 5 later on. I am new to drumming again after 50 years away, so, I may not remember or hear as well now. But, this cymbal seems to be lacking 'character' in its' sound. It could be the way I am playing it and the sticks used, that is why I may make this a 5 later (after I get better, if I get better.....muscle memory just ain't what it used to be 50 years ago). As said, here is my edit and a new 5 star rating. The big difference came when I added the Pro Mark S22 sizzler chain: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dmi&field-keywords=cymbal%20sizzler%20chain. This made a world of difference and I can now honestly give this cymbal a 5 star rating when used in combination with the Pro Mark S22. Note: I did have to cut off a couple of beads from the chain to prevent it from draping over the edge. This is an inexpensive investment and worth every penny!! ... show more

  • General use
Size: 20" Style: Ride
This is great for something between a crash and a ride. Purchase this as an addition to a first drum set because the symbols that came with it or almost useless. This one has a great Ring and Falls somewhere between a crash and a ride compared to what he's used to playing at the school.

  • Great sound for less money
Size: 20" Style: Ride
I love Sabian cymbals in this range as they are tough, cheap and sound really nice. Can't go wrong here.
