  • Great for beginners and learning to lay beads!!
Color: Tig-200
Overall it works, the only feedback here and is not documented anywhere. The gas port is a push on nozzle, so I had to cut off the end of the gas gauge screw on fitting, heat up the tube and press it on. Not sure why they don't make a screw on. The pedal and torch trigger is off/on, not variable to control amps. But can't expect that for the price. The instructions are very poor. If you aren't familar with welding already, you may find it tough to follow along. There are very few youtube videos on this. The pros - It has a post gas dial for x seconds of gas flow. This is great. The price is amazing. It also does stick. For the price and doing small jobs with steel up to 16 gauge, up to 1/8 or 3/16 possibly (non structural) this is a great welder. Note: You will need to buy a bottle and fill it at your local gas welder supply. Plan on at least another $250 for the bottle, and $80 for it to be filled. So a bit of upfront cost. ... show more

  • Good starter TIG welder
Color: Tig-200
I have always used a MIG welder, and needed to get into stainless steel TIG welding, so I was referred to this unit. For the price, it works well. I am inexperienced TIG welder, but enjoyed learning on this one. I have already done a lot with it successfully, but still have much experimenting and trial and error to do. I would say it's a good value and product, and am pleased with the purchase. ... show more

  • An okay machine. But it does not pulse.
Color: Tig-200
It's cheap. It's small. It has high frequency start for the TIG welding. And it generally works. I've gotten a lot of hours of TIG welding out of it. It does NOT pulse, despite the description. I've never tried at 110, but at 220, it works just fine. Good power. It can use a foot pedal, but it's only on/off -- no arc power adjustment. A little disappointing, but for the price, it is what it is. ... show more

  • Perfect Training TIG Welder
Color: Tig-200
Want to start learning how to TIG weld, get this affordable machine. I’ve had a Lincoln TIG welder for years but wasn’t able to use it very well. Just too complicated on how to use/set up. Purchased this TIG welder and was able to TIG weld immediately! Set power and air pressure for thickness of metal to be welded and you’re ready to go. Simple setup is great but arc initialization is a godsend. Now I can focus on working my basic TIG welding skills and as I get these working well, then I’ll go back to the Lincoln TIG welder to figure our how to use all of its controls. ... show more

  • Very nice little machine! Does not weld aluminum though...
Color: Tig-200
I didn't really listen to the other reviews very well... You cannot get a satisfactory weld on aluminum with this machine. DC Tig is just not the right technology. For everything but aluminum however, this machine is great. It is really nice quality and lightweight. You will need a bunch of things to get started - tank of gas, regulator, tungsten electrode, and filler rod. I also bought the cheap foot pedal and it works just fine - just on/off though. The other thing I learned is that the arc seems much brighter than MIG welding and I needed a darker setting on my helmet. ... show more

  • Pretty darn good for the money
Color: Tig-200
I own three Miller and one Everlast welder but none of them are what I would consider highly portable. I thought I would give this little box a try based on the reviews. I have since only spent about an hour running it through it paces and can say the stick welding appears great and strong with no issues. The tig side of things is acceptable in a pinch for portability, and the HF start is robust. I will note that the high frequency start function seems to be running continuously until you stop your weld. I guess that doesn't matter, its just unusual. With such a low price, I added the four year repair/replacement warranty should it fail within 4 years. I am very pleased with the value and portable utility this little welder may deliver. ... show more

  • DC only, no aluminum
Color: Tig-250
Works well on 1/8" steel coupons. I don't think the cables are big enough for 250 amps though. If you connect the electrode holder where the graphic icon on the panel shows it, you will be on DCEN...there is nothing in the manual for setting it up correctly. The gas connector on the back panel is a barbed fitting and it does not come with a hose. At the price, it is definitely worth it, but don't expect much. ... show more

  • Really impressed with this little rig
Color: Tig-200
I’m pretty blown away by this little rig. I got it for a few little exhaust fabrication projects on my rally bikes. I really didn’t even shop around or read reviews I just pulled the trigger on one and it was here in just a few days. First off: the quality of the machine is pretty impressive. I didn’t expect the fit and finish to be as good as it was. I’m also impressed by the fact that it has post flow settings and an automatic gas flow on/off What surprised me even more is that this isn’t a strike start welder, it’s not a lift start welder, it’s a high frequency start welder. I thought that feature was reserved for high end machines, yet here it is on a $197 Chinese welder. It’s a super nice feature which allows you to keep your tungsten much cleaner than with strike start. I made two modifications to this machine: 1) the 3/32 tungsten holder was more like 1/16, so my fresh 3/32nd tungsten (not included) didn’t fit. I had to grab my 3/32 drill bit and drill it out, not a big deal 2) I moved the high frequency start button to a more ergonomic position for my style of welding. That’s not the fault of the machine, just my preference. Overall this is a great machine if you want to learn how to tig weld, or if you have a few projects you need to knock out. I’m very happy so far and will update this review if anything changes. Note: tungsten, argon, regulator, and welding helmet not included. You will need to plan to get an argon tank which is anywhere from $80-180 for a hobbyist plus a fill. Enjoy! Update: it’s been at least 6 months now and the welder is still going strong for my occasional projects. I really cannot think of anything negative to say about this little rig, it has been flawless. ... show more
