  • Works perfectly
Got this for my Dad as he was starting to have a hard time lifting the gas cans to fill his ride on mower (90 years old and still insists on mowing his own lawn). This works perfectly for him to roll the gas can on a dolly next to the tractor and then just press a button to fill the tank.

  • Great for Emergencies, Fish Tanks or Flooded Pools After a Hurricane
The media could not be loaded. This tool would be great for emergencies, something you could store in the back of a vehicle for when needed. However I would also find this tool better served when deal with gas on a weekly basis for lawn equipment, generators or ATVs. It's a nifty tool that fits right on to your 1 gallon or 5 gallon containers, thanks to the variety of thread adapters. However, once you use this device for gas, it needs to stay for gas only and not to siphon anything else. I also wouldn't recommend using for Oil as referred to in the directions. I believe that is just a miss-interpretation on the translation from its origin country. I say that this is even better for fish tanks, because if you are a parent who has had to help their children with their pet's tank, then just by watching the video you will see how much easier this device is compared to those hand pumps you have to pay for 2/3rd the cost of this device that doesn't come with a mesh screen. You'll probably have a 5 gallon tank close to drained in about 3~5 minutes. The pump is very intuitive and I like the option given for use with the device, especially the "D" battery conversion (who uses D batteries anymore?). This is safe enough for child to use, one you have the mesh plug attached to the motor (easy to put on). I believe this device is really going to help us out come hurricane season. In the last two storms, we lost power to our pool and it was near flooding levels. It's pretty hard to get a good vacuum established from a 10 foot hose, so we were forced to scoop the water out with buckets (~45 minutes). I can see using this device, sticking one end of the garden house in the water, while inserting the outflow house of the pump (both hoses submerged) and then running the pump to help get the initial vacuum established with the 10 foot hose. Once established (water flowing out of the other end of the hose), leave one end of the 10 foot hose in the water while removing the pump. Gravity will do the rest in draining a flooded pool. ... show more

  • A good light-duty pump
The convoluted plastic hoses are thin. The housing is made entirely of plastic. It's not something you would carry in your toolbox...but for light duty in the garage? It's absolutely okay. The battery compartment accepts either 2x 'D' size batteries or (using the included adapters) 6x 'AA' size batteries. Using 'D' batteries will probably give the best battery life for pumping out a few 5 gallon cans. Using the 'AA' batteries, the included adapters put each group of 3 batteries in parallel - to combine the ampacity. Either way, the pump operates from ~3.2 volts DC. Also included are varoius adapters for different diameter/thread pitch gas cans. I had no trouble getting the pump to thread right on to our 'W Mart' gas cans. So all that you need to do is turn the switch on and the pump does it's job. It's not fast but it does empty a gas can within 1/2" of the bottom when the intake is properly positioned in the bottom of the can. The actual pump is at the end if the intake hose (see photos) The power cable obviously runs through the center of the hose as can be seen. To get even better performance from the pump, I fashioned an adapter from PVC pipe & a spring to allow the use of a 18650 rechargeable lithium battery. The voltage difference is roughly 0.7 volts (lithium batteries output 3.7~4.2 volts) so the pump spins slightly faster and performance is somewhat improved. Rechargeable/replaceable too! Just my two cents worth. These pumps don't last long with gasoline - don't expect them to. You can also transfer antifreeze or insecticide with this pump as well as diesel fuel. Whatever your use, the pump does do its job and the accessories included will help you get your job done too! Two thumbs up. ... show more

  • Very weak flow on ‘D’, decent on ‘AA’, questionable longevity and value
Generally the plastic of tubes feels thin, but pretty decent. It’s also very flexible which is nice. While most of it easily goes together and fits well, the clip for the end of the outflow hose does not want to stay put on the main body. The first uses were with fresh ‘D’ cell batteries and performance was rather disappointing. In the picture with the side-by-side, the distance from floor to tank opening is 26” and it had pretty full hose flow. In the mower picture, that is 37” from floor to top of the opening and it had a very small stream.Lifting the gas can up about a foot gave a full hose flow. Swapping out to ‘AA’ batteries gave a very nice strong and faster flow at both previous heights. So I would say don’t even bother with ‘D’ cells unless you are always going to be pumping to lower heights. The manual states that you can extend the outflow hose, which does look very easy since the end is designed with a slightly narrower end that will easily fit some extra hose. But, this comes with the caveat that you’re not pumping very high since it seems to have problems over 30”, especially on ‘D’ cells. Overall, time will tell if it holds up, but for now it’s not bad for the price. There are probably better units out there, but I don’t know which ones. ... show more
