I purchased this tool so I can do my own tire rotation on my vehicles. I also used this impact wrench when replacing shocks on my 2015 Jeep Wrangler (The lower bolts on the shocks, not the upper bolts) The impact wrench worked great. The media could not be loaded. I highly recommend it’s my favorite tool for big projects, it takes off axle nuts, all car lug nuts. Be sure to be on mode 3 for big jobs not auto. I love the e auto feature for more fragile work. I was able to take off those difficult hard bolts and wheel bolts are so easy with this tool. Save some money over the other brands.     • TQ & Break out !
This Ryobi 1/2" impact wrench was what I needed for project to replace an anode rod on a couple water heaters .... I have the 1/4" & 3/8" models but are not adequate to break out the 1 1/16 anode rod bolt. The 1/2" P262 was great @ 600ft/lbs break out impact force & loosened it & backed off in minutes! I was undecided in choosing the model with 245 lb/ft TQ with 400 break out, or the heavy model with 700 lb/ft Tq. with 1,100 break out..... I decided to go with P262 as was in between the two but will also be adequate enough to tackle some larger projects in future requiring it's TQ & break out capacity ! It feels great in hand, not too light or too heavy.... it has great features like lighting & TQ impact speed control choice settings, running on 18v Ryobi spare batteries!     • Very tight metal 'O-Ring' hard to get past
OK, if you are buying this, chances are you already getting into, and know what I mean about the metal O-Ring. If not, it is right near the start of the square head you put your socket on (zoom in og pic on product page to see it) to keep it from just falling off. Well, this Ryobi HP Brushless has a very strong ring, making it hard to get sockets, extensions, adapters, etc on and off. If you are pretty darn strong, you can get them on and off, or if you have older sockets etc it shouldnt be a problem. Other than that, it is very good. I have had the older model Ryobi long ago, electric ones, and air powered impact wrenches. This one, with the 6amp battery, broke a 1/2 inch bolt halfway down it when trying to get it off my vehicle (factory nerf bars). So, it is pretty darn powerful, and should work great for you doing anything, except maybe a day to day mechanic (I am not a mechanic anymore for years now, and have only used it on 3 bolts so far: 1 extra long cab bolt that did not break, and 2 cab mounting brackets for the nerf bar, and 1 of the 2 bolts broke, but I am also in snow country, so there is the rust factor on the nerf bar bolts, but it also shows that even rusted in 1/2 inch x 3 inch 19mm head bolts can be removed with this bad boy impact gun). Anyway, so far it is a keeper. The 4amp batteries tend to even out the weight distribution mostly, and the 2amp are perfect weight distribution. But who buys this intending to use 2amp batteries, and only use it a few times anyway, right? It is lighter than the old model, due to it being brushless, so there is that. You have to consider the price to fairly review this product. I'm a typical Ryobi guy. I like the eco system. I needed an impact driver for lug nuts to eliminate firing up the air compressor and pulling out hoses and air impact. I was pleasantly surprised that it removed all 20 lugnuts of my truck while doing a tire rotation without resorting to a pullbar. I religiously Torque my lugnuts to 110 ft/lbs so I know it will handle at least that much and that's all I need. I don't need it to tighten to that because I Torque by hand . I have owned 3 different brands of impacts and this roybi has the best feel. Compared to my old 36v Dewalt impact this ryobi is half the size and gives me the same nut removal power. I have given away all my other impacts to family and friends that needed one for roadtrips so I bought this one. Having ryobi batteries laying around made this an easy buy. Ppl love to hate on ryobi but bottom line THEY WORK GREAT and the fact that batteries will fit there entire line makes it ever better. Don't hesitate to buy this model if you have ryobi batteries laying around. It could save your day if you have a flat. Get a small tool bag and put this impact along with a battery, a car charger for the battery and a small set of impact sockets in said bag and you have the best tire removal kit. I tend to be the guy who stops and helps anyone I see with a flat so this thing had already came in handy a few times. ... show more
