Sink is nice looking with lots of accessories. The one I’ve used most often is the drying rack. The one drawback is that the slope to the drain is not steep enough so it is difficult to get food debris to the drain.

I really wanted a big sink to ensure pots and pans could fit. I'm by NO means a five star chef so I am pretty basic in my cooking. Loved the sink when it was installed, so much so that I didn't even use it the first week, I'd walk my dishes to my utility sink in the laundry room! I've had the sink three years now. What other reviews say is 100% true... it is impossible to drain because it is not sloped enough so EVERYTHING sits in it. I despise cleaning it so if I let it go one day then I have fragments of food sitting in it. You get a wire rack to prevent scratching, but.. that too is impossible to clean and then prevents you from wiping the sink down without removing this giant rack. It's a beautiful sink but such a pain, I wish I went a different avenue. Renovation note: If you are renovating an old kitchen and your sink was the traditional depth, this one is deeper and can also be a pain to connect to your existing drain pipes. I had to use a flexible one and am currently replacing that and the basket strainer/drain unit. I would not recommend this sink to a friend unfortunately. ... show more

When doing our kitchen remodel, I wanted to get a sink large enough to wash the big pots we all use when having the whole family over for holidays. This sink is IT and I love it! It's deep; it's wide and it can fit anything from large pots to griddles. I can wash any big item when necessary but when it's just the two of us, it's a great sink to leave the few things that can't go in the dishwasher drying on the bottom rack. A drying rack that fits in the top ledge was included workstation items, as well as cutting board, and colander; all are also wonderful (though the colander could use a few more holes to drain properly). With the cutting board set in the ledges at the top of the sink, I can dispose of seeds and cores by simply pushing them off into the garbage disposal. Not only do I get extra counter space this way, it also keeps juices from getting all over my new soapstone counters. The only complaint about the cutting board is that it's so beautiful, it was hard to use at first since I didn't want to put any cuts in it. But convenience won out and I use it all the time; a little mineral oil keeps the finish looking great. Another note: when using the cutting board, take care regarding knife placement and counter edges (soft stone like soapstone is easy to nick). The stainless steel is beautiful (though with our hard water, needs to be wiped down so it doesn't spot) and so very easy to maintain. A little BonAmi or Barkeepers Friend does the trick. The rinse guard rack at the bottom adds security knowing I won't mar the beauty of the bottom and the slanted design of the bottom helps me get all the little bits of this and that down the drain with not problem. The thick soundproofing covering the underside of the sink keeps away all that nasty noise you get using cheaper stainless sinks. I haven't had any problems at all with this purchase so I haven't needed to contact Ruvati but I could tell that they are a classy company; they packed the sink in a box with tons of padding and then put the sink in a large cloth bag to keep it looking great until we put it in. Now the bag makes a great laundry bag (large with a drawstring closure). I have already recommended this sink to friends and family members and highly recommend it for anyone who wants a beautiful and functional work station in their kitchen. ... show more

This is my 2nd Ruvati. The 16 gauge steel makes it incredibly solid. The soundproofing around the exterior makes it ver quiet.

    • Beautiful sink, has major design flaws

Positively the sink is beautiful; I do love it the idea for functionality of the design. Seems like a common problem, designers don’t actually use the products. If you want a good design, have a cook/chef design a sink. The angle of the bottom of the sink is not high enough to facilitate good drainage making it difficult to clean. If any solids are on the bottom, even small ones they sit stationary. The drain basket is a great idea but consistent with other reviews, there are too few holes for good drainage. I still use it and am glad to have it, but every time I use it, there is water standing in the bottom meaning the bottom layer of anything being drained is wet. Bug-some. The cutting board is very pretty but with the first swath of the knife a deep white groove was left. You basically can’t use it for a cutting board. Mine has been used very little and looks terrible already as opposed to the Williams Sonoma cutting board I’ve had for over five years and still looks great. Pine perhaps, or another soft wood; regardless is not good quality. I use it to rest things on as it has a drain and fits nicely in the sink. Regarding the bottom being scratched, I have the grid that fits in the bottom. Love it, as it does prevent scratching and can also be used as a drain. The foldable grid drain is an awesome design but have been using it for two months and is already showing signs of rust. So is the sink actually, and I’ve used absolutely no oxidizing products that can rust stainless steel. ... show more
