This is my second Ruko drone, first I bought a Mini and gave it away after a few months. Someone saw and asked for it, I could not say no. Now I saw this new, upgraded model and thought to give it a try. I am not a professional photographer but I enjoy taking photos, and drones add to the enjoyment by giving me new opportunities and views. As with any review, the purpose is to relate my experience with the product. The price is reasonable and the performance is good for the price point. It is also a good deal because it comes with two batteries, giving you plenty of flying time before charging. It takes a USB C cable to charge the batteries, you can also charge them in the car or with a portable charger bank. I received it on a Saturday, shipping was really fast. I fully charged the batteries and remote and read the manuals, then on Sunday, I went out to give it a test. It is less than 250 grams so you don’t need to register it, however, I have already taken the TRUST test and always carry my certificate. I also downloaded one of the FAA-approved apps to make sure there are no restrictions in the area I plan to fly. I often drive by this location and many times I thought of stopping and taking some photos of the pond. As I said, the drone would give me different views. Once I arrived at the area, I turned everything on, connected the phone, and waited for the GPS signal to lock, it took little less than a minute. Then you have to calibrate the compass and you are ready to fly. There are many options in the app, such as maximum altitude, distance, and others. Of course, I was anxious to take the photos but had to set maximum altitude and distance. I included some screenshots of the app to give readers an idea of the features. The app also has a checklist to make sure you and the drone and you are ready to fly, make sure you go over the checklist to avoid any issues. I started the motors and took off, once it took off it hovered between one and two meters, the area was clear so I sent it up to about twenty feet. It is very responsive to the controls does not wander around, and stays put when you stop moving it. Suddenly I saw two birds flying towards it and brought down a few feet quickly, I was happy to see how well it responded, in any case, I don’t think the birds were interested in the drone. I moved it around for some time while taking photos, always keeping it in sight as required. As I mentioned, it handles very well and it is easy to control, does not overshoot, and follows the commands. I believe that the price/performance ratio is adequate, the pluses are that includes an extra battery, a case to carry everything, and the photos are great. My wife was impressed with the quality of the photos. I am attaching some photos to the review so readers can judge and decide for themselves. I am looking forward to taking it on my travels and taking some great shots. If you are looking for adequate performance at a reasonable price point, I believe this is it. This is the third Ruko drone I have owned, and none has disappointed. First off, the company offers terrific customer service; I had an issue with launching my Ruko Pro — operator error, as it turned out — but customer support showed great patience and got me going. Now on to the U11 Mini, which is exactly that: mini. This drone weighs less than 250 grams, so there is no need to register it with the FAA. It’s small, but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t pack some punches. The 4K camera produced for me the high-quality images I hoped for. And the video is solid too, although it can be shaky at times in the wind. That’s to be expected for ANY mini, however, no matter how expensive. I love the ability to snugly place my iPhone with the drone — much better than other drones I have used. The transmitter/controller is much more substantial than my other Ruko drone — I love that. It feels SOLID. And the carrying case is excellent, as are the cases for my other Ruko drones, and it doubles as a launching pad. In flight, the drone buzzes about like you’d expect for one this small. It has flight modes for video (slower), normal and high speed for you energetic drone operators. All easy to use. I’m a drone veteran, so I had this one up in the air after about 15 minutes. Easy-peasy. There is a quick-start guide as well as a deeper guide for those who want to know all the intricacies. (I usually skip this for lack of patience. You more careful drone operators will want to peruse thoroughly.) In sum, this is a GREAT drone for the money.     • An Outstanding Reasonably Priced Drone
Size: U11MINI 2 Batteries
A likely potential buyer for this price point drone would hope for features normally available on higher priced drones and is easy to get started flying. Since drones are becoming almost the weapon of choice for the military, Amazon is field trialing delivery drones in the UK, and commercial drones are being utilized more and more, it is reasonable to expect drones will become more common place for recreational use. The Ruko U11 MINI is an ideal solution for that growing market segment. If you want to get started with a quality product, loaded with features, reasonably priced, and backed by outstanding customer service, the Ruko U11 MINI is the right product for you. Some Observations: Ruko does an outstanding job of packaging their products and the carrycase for this drone is no exception. Ruko also includes ample spare parts including connecting cables, propeller blades and screws, spare toggle rockers, and a second battery. Some product nuances not generally itemized in product descriptions are: (1) the controller is designed similar to a more popular and a much more expensive drone competitor and has a solid ergonomic feel. It has a rubber channel on the top and a much better designed phone attachment retainer which secures your phone without fear of slippage or falling out. This is particularly important for using over-sized phones like the iPhone 15 pro Max. (2) the advertised 4k video is truly 4k with video at 20 frames per second. The resolution is stunning. Additionally, the SD memory accommodates up to 128 GB which is very useful as 4k video is very data intensive. An hour of flight time could result in over 50 GB of data. When I first opened the U11 MINI, I was a little concerned that the gimbal was only 2 axis. If you are not a photographer, however, I found the gimbal to be very good in flight. For a full featured reasonably priced drone, the video is remarkably stable. We have a lot of breezy conditions in Florida and the MINI held its own, albeit not completely stable but not objectionably jerky. The Return to Home feature was close enough you could easily take control and adjust for any deviation. The Route Rules or Waypoint feature and GPS Follow Me Plus Image Follow features all worked as expected. I did not use Point of Interest or Gesture Record but no reason to suspect they wouldn’t work as expected, since everything else worked just great. Access to all the included features is in the U11 MINI downloaded application. Please note you will need this specific application for the U11 and can’t use other Ruko drone applications. This application is not cluttered or difficult to read and all features are easily accessible. The application is very user friendly and easy to use. In summary, I’m fairly new to the drone experience, but this is my fifth drone, and I can honestly say dollar for dollar, it is an outstanding acquisition.
