• The wood chisel set includes 4 chisels: 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", and 1" (6mm, 12mm, 19mm, 25mm), each with a protective sleeve to protect the tip. • The wood chisel set has high hardness, and sharp edges. It will not curl or chip. No sharpening is required, and it is ready for use. The chisels are about 2-3 inches longer than my other chisels, as shown in the photo, which makes them a little awkward to use with a hammer. • The chisel has a non-slip handle. It also has a metal impact plate at the end to transmit hammer strikes. I prefer no paint on the steel of the chisel. Sharpening will have to take off the paint first. ... show more

With a life-time warranty, I figured I couldn't go wrong. The handles are coated with an anti-slip plastic type of material. The chisels feel great in my hand and they are easy to hang on to. They are made of CR-V steel, which is a hard metal and will last. I like how well the size markings are lasered on to each chisel. They are in easy to read letting. The blades a painted black, but I don't know how long that will last. They also have a steel cap on the end to be able to use a hammer to work the chisel. This is a nice set that I can't find any negative things to say, except not being sharpened well upon receiving them. ... show more

    • Solid tools but needed to be sharpened
I am a novice woodworker but so far have enjoyed using this set for a few of my current projects. The handles are easy to hold onto and felt secure during use. (I particularly appreciated the molded piece near the blade where I put my thumb to help guide the chisel while in use.) My set needed to be sharpened out of the box as the blades and edges were not as sharp as you would expect from a chisel set. (However, once sharpened the metal seemed to hold the edge quite well.) ... show more

4 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ These chisels are nice, heavy duty, and are very sharp after just a few strokes on a sharpener. The handles have good grip, and they feel very solid. The blades get nice and sharp after just a few strokes to knock the burr off they left from the factory. I tested them on a plank of pine wood, and I was able to carve out pieces by hand no problem. This is a really nice chisel set, it feels great in the hand. Once you sharpen them, they work great. Not sure how well the handle will hold up over time though since you do need to hit it.

    • Great set of chisels
I haven't replace a chisel in more than 2 decades, always hand sharpening my old ones. I needed to get a friend a gift who does a lot of wood working projects so picked this up...I ended up keeping them. The handles are a good size making them comfortable to use. These have metal shaft and a hammer strike plate on the end so they can be used for non-delicate work. I was very impressed with how sharp and straight the edges came on these. I didn't need to clean up any of them before I used them. I see some others have mentioned they had to sharpen them but I must have gotten lucky. The storage bag is a bit on the bulky side but keeps them separated and stored safely. If you are looking for a gift for some one who does wood working projects this kind of tool makes a great gift. ... show more

    • Smooth operators!
As far as chisels go, they are a cut above! They hold their edge and slice like a razor blade! I haven't done a whole lot with them, so they don't need to be sharpened yet. The angle of them is such that they don't chip the edge. The grips are nice and firm. They haven't gotten loose either.
