We bought this rug exactly a year ago and let me tell you, what a mistake. Initially I loved it- the colors, the pattern, the potential to be washed: it seemed perfect! We purchased the 8x10’ and placed it in our bedroom- mostly under our king sized bed. (So not a lot of foot traffic and zero direct sunlight) At first it was fine but within 2 months it began to, I don’t want to say unravel because it’s not a rug with pile/yarns- but just sort of disintegrate. It started with the edges and worked into the main rug pattern, we never did wash it because it became apparent very early on that it wasn’t going to make it through a wash cycle. Then it started to fade. And I mean FADE. The warm browns turned to silvery grays and the pattern is barely discernible anymore. It just looks like a beige and darker beige ratty mat on our floor. It’s awful considering this wasn’t exactly cheap when we purchased. One last thing to consider is vacuuming. It is darn near impossible to vacuum- even the lowest setting on our Dyson stick vacuum sucks it right off the ground and forget about ANYTHING with a brush roll. So we’ve been using a hand tool on a huge rug for a year and let me tell you, I am back here on Amazon to buy a different rug because I can not wait to be done with this one. Save yourself a headache, listen to Obi Wan and look elsewhere, this is not the rug you are looking for. 👋 ... show more

I order the 5' x 8' Light Blue from Rugs USA by Lauren Liess and I am in love. The color and design are understated and absolutely gorgeous against my dark hardwood floors. Actually, this rug would be stunning on any type of flooring or in anyone's home. I would almost say this is a white rug with a beautiful light to dark blue pattern. It has a thin pile, and the description states it is machine washable. I can see me putting it into my washing machine, but I definitely wouldn't put it in my dryer. The rug is soft and luscious even with a thin pile. Besides you can always add a carpet pad underneath if you want a cushy feel. I cannot recommend this rug (or any of the many colors and styles) enough. P.S. Unfortunately, I notice a piece of grass on the rug in the first photo. I wanted to let you know so you wouldn't think it is a defect in the rug. Now...get to buying a new rug! LOL ... show more

Pale blue design on the rug. It is "rubber" backing so it doesn't slip or move on the floor. The term "washable" may be a little misleading. Perhaps it would be better to use a description like it can be shampooed or a carpet cleaner can be used. Most people tend to interpret washable as putting the item in a washing machine. This would be a challenge for a rubber backed 5 ft by 8 ft rug. It is a nice light blue patterned rug for most any room that has a blue design theme. ... show more
