I own a couple of other rugs from this company and the 'washable' feature is real folks. The heft of this product is in the pad, the top portion is relatively thin but don't be fooled into thinking it's not durable. I have 2 large dogs and they play, run and sleep on these with great comfort. I can simply pick up the top and throw it in the washing machine. I've had my other two for 2-3 years now and they don't show any wear. Don't dry them on high, mostly tumble low or even tumble air dry. The hardest part of these rugs is laying them down so you get creases. Think of the rug pad as a thick velcro pad that the top portion sticks to. The colors are amazing and beautiful for my space. I really like the soft textured. I got cushioned rug pad and it’s not enough to cushion a baby if he falls (I have a 7 month old) but it’s comfortable under foot. Haven’t washed yet, can update the review when I do. I have a cat who scratches rugs occasionally and so far, this doesn’t show her claw marks at all. ... show more

This runner/rug arrived today. So far, I love it. It really elevates the look and feel of my kitchen. I love that it comes with a detachable mat, which allows you to peal the rug off and toss it in the washer machine when needed.

To be washable these have to be thin. I get it. But these rugs are like t-shirts over a thin pad. We got the standard pad so I can't say if the thicker one would help but not terribly thrilled with this version.

This is a great rug! It doesn’t feel cheap and it lays flat so no one will trip. It was easy to set up and I like the liner it came with. Easy to vacuum and happy we can wash it since it’s our dogs favorite hang out spot. Beautiful design as well. Very happy with the purchase.
