Used this at a friend's house and felt very secure as I helped her with her curtains...much more than what I was using at my home. I have now used it at home and it's a secure feeling to be able to get up high and not feel endangered. The little shelf is wonderful...you can put the light bulb or screws or tools on it and it's right there, handy, don't have to go up and down for your stuff! Very sturdy. Folds up very flat. A bit heavy, because it's made of steel, but when it's flat, I just put my arm through and off we go. It even has a tiny, little lock to keep it locked when you step on it. Push it and you fold it easily. I am keeping it in a little corner inside the house so it's always handy. It's only 2" across when folded!!! Pretty good! ... show more

Since this two level sep stool is made of steel, it is a bit heavy for its size. But, it's very stable with its rubber-tipped legs. One minor complaint: The sticky glue that's used for the application of the manufacturer's large label on the top-most step should be changed, as it's impossible to remove. This feels very sturdy and folds nicely. The colors are clean. My only complaint is that the glue dots put on the top under the Rubbermaid paper label are so tenacious that some remains stuck to the step and immediately made the item look dirty and caused a stickiness under my shoes. It is so frustrating for a brand new item to be marred like this for no reason. So it loses a star for this. ... show more

I finally replaced a really old, cranky foldable step stool with this and I can't believe the difference. There are so many things that Rubbermaid got right on this one. It stores easily and is very sturdy. It is ridiculously simple to press a small tab on the top step as you bring it in to fold. So smooth. It's very easy to carry around. When it's open, that strong handle on top makes it much safer to go from bottom to top step with full balance control. The steps are a good size for firm footing. After I used it a few times, I knew I'd have to write a review. I don't know how the other step stools operate, but I can definitely say this one is a winner. ... show more
