I’m 5’9” tall and all the broom/mop handles are too short and now they come in 3 pieces that screw together and never stay together. I decided to buy this handle for my new broom. It’s the perfect height for me, I’m no longer bending over to sweep. Less bending, less body fatigue. It was so awesome, I bought another one for my mop. They are “last forever” sturdy. Nice handle. Smooth, straight. Longer than usual. I bought it mostly for that extra length. However , it didn’t fit all that well with the broom head, or the gutter cleaner attachment I have. It wiggles a good deal with both. Now that could be that I have an issue with both my attachments. Both fit pretty nicely on the handle I broke, however, so that points to there be something ever so slightly off here. It’s a good handle, and long, so if you can tolerate a bit of wiggle, it’s worth it. Otherwise, there might be cheaper options that work better. ... show more

    • Great replacement for my Rubbermaid push broom!

I purchased a Rubbermaid brand push broom a while back that had a (hollow and thin walled) metal handle. I’ve used it for numerous things from sweeping the concrete driveway, pushing water towards the sump pump basin when our basement flooded, to scrubbing the vinyl siding down on my MIL’s house. Went to use it again recently and the metal at the bottom near where it screws in was rusted completely through and it broke off. Curse words were muttered, and I ordered this bad boy as a replacement. I suspect it will last a lot longer than it’s poorly constructed counterpart... FYI the broom was always stored correctly, and (to my knowledge) never put away dirty or inordinately wet. I will update this post at a later date to inform of any changes. ... show more
