After thinking about my childhood when I sat by a creek plinking with my homemade slingshot. I now decided to take a look at how far modern slingshot technology has come. After looking around and watching far too many YouTube videos. I decided to purchase one. So the search was began. Being retired and knowing every penny counts the purchase choices really count, so buying some that is junk really stings. I was relying on reviews of buyers, which overall were good. Still, the price seemed slightly low for the priducts claims being made. We all know cheaper is not always better. With all this if the thing would give at least as much cheap entertainment as when I was a kid, then the twenty bucks would be worth it. So I hit the buy now button. Pros: 1) Packaged well in box with all parts bundled and wrapped for shipping protection. All parts were in great condition and none were missing. Instructions were included, with photos, though not detailed in some areas. 2) Frame is solid and machined well. The grips are quality and don't have the cheap plastic feel. 3) Once assembled the set of sights are truly a very nice feature and really help to sweeten the deal. 4) I was out in the yard plinking within minutes after putting it all together. In just a two shots I was on target. Two hours of absolutely having fun. (See photo of grouping during first practice, at a range of 50 feet) 5) I have medium sized hands and was somewhat worried if the unit would fit well in my hands. The fit, grip, and feel is great. Aligns up comfortably. Cons: (Though none are deal breakers or something to shy away from.) 1) Be sure to wear eye protection, which should go without saying anyway, but, because the bands are thinner. The bands perform well but better higher quality bands will no doubt make this a much better system. 2) If this unit would have cost 50.00 or above. I would have expected the grips to fit a bit more flush. I didn't feel any abnormalities or discomfort while shooting. The grips do ever so slightly not fit flush on the frame. This is to be expected when molded plastic is mounted to metal. 3) The trickest part to the assembly is adding the fiber optic material to the sights. I can see where this could really be a challenge for some folks. Especially if you aren't very dexterity oriented. Overall: Totally impressed and completely satisfied with this purchase. It ould make a great gift. I've ordered new (better) bands and ammo. I'm looking forward to much more shooting soon. ... show more

Well made stainless steel slingshot. The edges were nicely beveled for comfort but unfortunately it was the side facing away from me. They either forgot to smooth out the other dide or did the wring side because the slingshot was not comfortable to hold with the bands held properly. I beveled the edges with my Drexel tool and with a radius on both sides the slingshot is now very comfortable to hold. The package is a good value with a carry pouch, 3 bands, 2 sights, ammo, and 2 very small targets. If not for the work I had to do I would have given it 5 stars. ... show more

One can get pretty good with this sling shot. Once you figure out the best way to hold it (heavy, very solid and compact), align it, aim and breathe properly its good enough to hit a reasonably menacing target at 100ft with the clay pellets (I am not inclined to use the heavier steel pellets).

It's got some problems. as far as the bad, well... The leather pouch is cheap garbage. But to be honest, I expected it. Leathergoods on Amazon are usually pretty bad. Especially cheap ones. The clay pellets? Also junk. They don't weigh anything, so they are both inaccurate, and carry no force if you manage to hit something. But that doesn't matter much as their aren't many if them included. What matters most, is the bands. They are, by far, the most useless and hugely important to the proper function of a slingshot. They are unbelievably thin, less than 1/16 of an inch. (About as thick as a normal rubber band from the dollar store). And between them being so thin and so short, they have no power. Seriously. Take a rubber band from Walmart and pull it back. It has more resistance than these bands. Absolute junk. Then there's the pouch design. I don't know if it's popular, or something, but the pouch is 3/8ths wide and 1.5 inches long. It makes actually placing something in it very annoying and difficult. It's not like the slingshots from Walmart that have a 1x3inch pouch. As far as the slingshot itself. It's pretty well made. A little heavy, but it is through handle on the tang, if it's called that. It's sturdy, and relatively compact. As far as the sights, I don't know. I don't intend to use them. Never had sights growing up, don't need them now. Overall, I'd purchase something else given the lack of value in this 'kit'. Or I'd at least have bought some thicker bands. I would say it's OK for a 10 or 12 year old kid. This is a great slingshot. Took me a while to get used to it and understand the technique for aiming and shooting, but overall a nice device. The sights are good, but setting them up is a task. Once you get used to it, it's a blast. I use it almost daily just going out with the dog and taking a few shots while she does her thing. A great way to relax after work. Surprisingly accurate and powerful slingshot made from quality materials. The 1 mm latexbands are too powerful for targetshooting with the lightweight clay ammo. They are more suitable for hunting with steel ammo but can easily be changed for thinner ones ( 0.6-0.8 mm ) for a small price.
