This bike has been a great find! It feels sturdy and well-built, yet light enough for kids to handle with ease. The design is sleek and modern, with a solid frame that doesn’t feel flimsy at all. One of the things I really appreciated was how easy it was to assemble. Most of the difficult parts were already put together, so it only took me about 10-15 minutes to finish it up. The ride is smooth, and the hand brakes work well—perfect for helping kids transition from coaster brakes to something a bit more advanced. I also like that it has a kickstand, which is a nice touch to help kids learn how to take care of their bikes when they’re not riding. The sizing was a bit of a consideration, though. If you’re on the fence between two sizes, I’d recommend going for the larger one since kids tend to outgrow these things so quickly. All in all, it’s a great bike that should hold up for a while and maybe even be passed down to younger siblings when the time comes. It had to bee green and it had to have a bell. Sometimes, winning as a dad isn't so hard. I love this little... big... bike. The frame design is really cool. It doesn't look like a bunch of tubes welded together. More of a monobody style. They put the royalbaby branding all over the place: tires, grips, body. The full chain guard is helpful as my son seems to always want to ride in long pants. Do they even make pedal pushers anymore? Assembly is pretty normal for a bike, so I won't knock it for being difficult. Any less difficult and they'd have to charge alot more for labor/shipping. This thing has Christmas morning written all over it. We had a different Royalbaby bike before, no issues. I don't expect any with this one. Just check sizing and always opt for a size up if you have to choose (like shoes). They're always growing out of them. ... show more

I got this bike for my little grandsons to use when he visits. This bike is top drawer and of superior quality, being very light and still durable--as it needs to be for children learning to ride. The construction is amazing! It is very easy to assemble the few parts that need to be added. The little guy is ready to learn to ride a bike, and is just the right size for the 14" size. He can stand flat footed on the ground and still slide his posterior onto the seat. He understands the concept of the hand brakes. The lightness of the bike is easy for him to handle. Many parts of the bike are adjustable and can grow witih him. It was pouring rain when he last visited, so the bike went home with him for a while. Dad reports he just about has it down, and is doing very well. The pedal fit is very good, and his balance is excellent. When he outgrows this small bike, his little brother will be just the right size to take it over! His parents and I are very pleased with the design and functionality of this little bike. And the color scheme is cute, too. I strongly suspect he will add some stickers here and there. Great-grandson likes it very much, and the adults recommend it. ... show more

This bike was very easy to assemble if you immediately throw out the included tools and use your own. I didnt realize when I ordered it that instead of the typical disk brake style brakes on most bikes this one comes with drum brakes. Ive never maintained a bike with drum brakes before so time will tell if this was a good design choice or not. But beyond the brakes, this bike is very solidly built and should give my kid plenty of ride time before out growing it. ... show more

These Royalbaby bikes are amazing. I really like that they use magnesium alloy to make them super light. That is the same material that is used on adult mountain bike suspension fork lowers to keep the weight low. So it's a material that is light, strong and consequentially, expensive. Nos translate that to a kiddy bike, the advantage is immense considering how more agile and responsive the bike is. 100% recommendable, even over super hyped brands of kiddy bikes. ... show more

I got the 16inch with kickstand for my 5 year old daughter. From a sizing standpoint its just a little bit too high in my opinion. But she'll grow into it. I dont know that Id recommend this for a 4 year old unless they're tall. I would like her to be able to put her feet flat on the ground and be able to sort of slide her butt up onto the seat with a little effort. Shes working it out but she went from a glide bike to this, never had training wheels and she has stability issues when shes not moving. Overall 5 stars! What I liked: Very easy to assemble. Bike comes assembled with the hard parts out of the way. The only thing you really need to do is attach the handlebars, the seat, the pedals, reflecting lights and bell. All of the brakes, chain etc are already together. I had everything assembled in about 10 minutes. Looks cool. Except the chain cover which I think looks lame. I think it can come off, but my daughter likes it. Smooth ride, comfortable seat. Or so says my daughter. The wheels are larger and look odd, but I think the larger wheels help make a more comfortable ride. Brakes are different, but work great. What I didnt like: Kickstand is really far back. My daughter cant reach the kickstand without getting off the bike and going to it. She should be able to put her feet on the ground and reach back with her left foot and pull it forward. Its really far back though and she cant get her foot to a place to pull it down. Hand brakes came out of the box a bit too far forward. Thankfully its just an allen bolt, so I was able to loosen it and rotate it to be more horizontal. ... show more
