Description

With so many cat and kitten food options out there focused on ingredients, how do you know what’s best? Royal Canin knows there’s a science to it, researching each pet’s unique nutritional needs to formulate the most precise combination of nutrients in their diet to help your pet live a magnificent life. By the time a kitten gets to be around 4 months old, their growth rate slows, but their activity levels skyrocket. With intensifying energy levels, developing bones, growing muscles, and emerging teeth, older kittens need a different kind of nutrition than a younger baby cat. While it may seem like your kitten’s nutritional needs are complicated, Royal Canin Kitten Thin Slices in Gravy Cat Food makes it simple to feed their magnificence from the start. This wet kitten food is specifically designed to support a young kitten’s growth and development. It promotes healthy development of the immune system and supports your kitten’s growing bones and muscles. The precise ratio of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates matches the instinctively preferred macronutrient profile of your energetic kitten. And with an easy-to-eat gravy cat food kittens adore, this canned cat food is the perfect complement to Royal Canin Kitten Dry Food as your kitten transitions to a more “grown-up” diet of solids. With over 50 years of scientific research and observation, Royal Canin continues to deliver targeted nutrition to feed every pet’s magnificence. Not satisfied? Then neither are we. Our formulas are 100% satisfaction guaranteed. (Just contact us for more details.)The best way to keep the product fresh is to store it in the original bag, inside an airtight container. Since the product is naturally preserved, the longer it is open, the more the product can oxidize. It is not recommended to freeze the pet food as this draws out the moisture in the kibble and, upon thawing, can cause mold. To keep wet foods fresh, place them in a covered container in the refrigerator and make sure it is used within 1 - 2 days after opening. Whether feeding your pet wet or dry food, it is important to wash their dishes regularly and thoroughly rinse them with clean water, as remaining food can attract bacteria and insects.

Frequently asked questions

Royal Canin Kitten canned food is specifically formulated for kittens up to 12 months of age. The nutritional profile is tailored to support a kitten's growth and development.

While the soft texture of the thin slices in gravy is not designed to clean your kitten's teeth like dry food or dental treats might, it does make it easier for your young cat to eat and digest, especially when they have yet to fully develop strong jaw muscles.

The main protein source in this Royal Canin Kitten food is chicken. It provides kittens with high-quality, easily digested protein to support their growth.

One order of Royal Canin Kitten Thin Slices in Gravy contains a total of 24 cans, each weighing 3 ounces.

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The reviews suggest that this cat food is a firm hit with both kittens and adult cats. Many customers report that cats tend to love the taste and always finish their food, and appreciate the nutritional benefits it offers, particularly for kittens. Some users note that it's slightly more expensive than other brands, but most consider it a worthy investment given the results they observe.

Pros

  • 🐾 Consistently enjoyed by cats of varying ages
  • 😺 High nutritional value, particularly for kittens
  • 🥫 Offered in different textures - thin slices in gravy and loaf in sauce
  • 🚀 Quick and efficient delivery

Cons

  • 💸 Premium price point
  • 🍽️ Some customers find the thin slices in gravy variant messy as cats tend to fling the slices around
  • 💧 The Loaf in sauce variant can be a bit dry, requires addition of water

Should I Buy It?

Yes. Despite the premium price, the positive response from both kittens and adult cats, along with the nutritional value it provides, make it a worthwhile purchase. However, customers with very playful cats might want to steer clear from the 'thin slices' option due to potential mess.

  • Expensive but excellent quality
Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 24) Style: Loaf in Sauce
I love Royal Canin’s product quality and would recommend this food to anyone who has: a) a truckload of disposable income, or b) a maximum of one kitten to feed. I fear that the decision to feed multiple growing kittens exclusively RC is a feat reserved exclusively for the upper echelon of society.

  • Our first choice
Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 24) Style: Loaf in Sauce
Our kitten has been having Royal Canin since he started wet food. We tried to switch to other brands but eventually back to RC. It’s great for hair, but I think it’s a bit oily. But so far it’s been 7months. He’s a very healthy kitten so we’re satisfied!

We bought this on Amazon, other sellers have hidden fees, or delivery charges. This product comes overnight from Amazon and is a fair market value price.

  • A good food for older kittens, much better composition than the "loaf in sauce" version
Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 24) Style: Case of 24
We got introduced to the Royal Canin brand with my prior cat, who needed their single-source protein version to deal with some stomach sensitivity issues. Now we have a new kitten and we knew we'd be sticking with Royal Canin. Our choice was reinforced when I found the site catinfo.org, which has a great document listing all the major brands and their real nutritional breakdown (as opposed to the deliberately vague "guaranteed analysis" numbers on the labels); Royal Canin's kitten foods were among the best you could get and are in almost exactly the ideal ratio of protein / fat / carbs. Do note that this is one of TWO varieties of Royal Canin's "Kitten Instinctive" food; the other is called "Loaf in Sauce", and in my opinion that other variety is a much poorer option once you compare the ingredients. This "Thin Slices" version has chicken, chicken liver, and pork as the first three ingredients, with by-products and wheat not showing up until the fifth or sixth ingredient. In contrast, the "Loaf in Sauce" version starts right off with chicken by-products as its first ingredient, wheat not far behind, and actual chicken meat / organ meat isn't mentioned until much further down the list. This is doubly surprising because Royal Canin's first-stage kitten food (for kitties under 4 months) is ALSO called "Loaf in Sauce" and has the same ingredient set / priority as this "Thin Slices" second-stage food. So enough about the nutrition and ingredients. What matters in the end is whether kitty actually likes it or not. Well, my boy Kiba definitely loves this food. He eagerly waits for his bowl to be filled and dives right in once I set it down, even when it's the last serving from the can and still cold from the fridge. We'll definitely be sticking with this food (as well as RC's stage-2 kitten kibble; he's currently eating 1 can of the wet per day and about 3/8 cup of the kibble) until he's an adult and ready to transition to the next stage of food (although we may just keep him on this forever, given that the adult food skews more to carbs and has less protein and fat). And definitely buy here on Amazon; the flats they ship are nowhere near their expiration date, and the price is lower than I've found at Petco or other pet supply stores. ... show more
