One of my favorite flashlights of all time (I am also a fan of the Streamlight HLX and HL-5X for larger lights). But back to the A8. It’s almost the exact size of a AA battery, super bright, easy to use, and loads of features. The magnetic plate on the back is one of my favorite. I added a glow in the dark paracord lanyard to mine which is easily charged with a few seconds of UV light from the side of the light. This makes it easy to spot at night on my nightstand if I need to get up. I recently dropped this flashlight on our concrete basement floor and it cracked around the button. I contacted Rovyvon and they were quick to reply and replace the light for me at no charge. This is excellent service and I will continue to recommend them. I have given several away as gifts to strangers and friends alike. Generally I’m using the light and someone comments on how nice it is. I normally just give them the one I’m using and order another or if I’ll see that person again I order them a new one to give them. My only tip is to order the 6500k version unless you really want the more neutral light color as the 5000k is significantly less bright. You can easily tell a difference between the 650 lumens and 420 lumens that each one has. I initially ordered the 5000k as a replacement for one I gave away but exchanged it for another 6500k because I was unhappy with the lower output. ... show more

I found this light in an EDC video I was watching. I have been looking for a good side flood flashlight with UV capability. Not that I need it for anything, just think it's cool to have. This light is impressively small for the high lumen output it produces. It easily beats my other similar sized lights. For me, this is a good flashlight either for a keychain or to chuck in your bag for when you need it. So far, I have used it mainly to illuminate my engine bay while fixing something since the attachable magnetic end cap works really well. In fact, it may become my go to flashlight for the car since it also charges via USB C which I already have in the car for my phone charger. I could also see the red flashing modes being useful as a caution device if you are pulled over on a highway. The only thing I can complain about is that I'm not the biggest fan of the button. It's perfectly fine, but I tend to like the rubber dome buttons better. To be clear, this is just preference and I am still rating 5 stars. ... show more

This is a feature-packed flashlight for it's size and price. The main light is surprisingly bright for it's size. The side lights are by far my favorite feature and add so much utility. There are many features on this light that are usually only found on more expensive models like adjustable brightness, mode selection, rechargeable, magnetic. It feels very well made (for the most part) and all the features work well. It's not perfect. If there was a 4.5 stars, that's what I would give it, but it definitely rounds up to 5 more than down to 4. I only have a couple minor criticisms. - The magnetic features are added snap-ons that make the profile/shape feel bulky and cheaper. It's a tough trade off to either give up the magnetic features or keep the smaller, premium appearance and feel. - The button controls are complicated. I really hesitate to list this as a criticism, because they do a really good job making all these features work with only one button. It's not intuitive, but I think it's as intuitive as it can get. I mention it as a criticism only because I think it's something a prospective buyer should be aware of as a user challenge. The RovyVon customer service is also excellent. I was sent an older version than the one shown, but they immediately sent me the correct one with no issues. The previous version I got was still great, but had the older micro-usb charger and did not fit the included magnetic end cap. The replacement is every bit as-advertised and a really phenomenal product and an amazing value. If I had to make any feature suggestions, I would: - Integrate the magnetic strip from the clip into the body of the flashlight (opposite the side lights), and relocate the clip to the side. That could also make the clip thinner since the magnet would be removed from the clip. - I would also integrate the clip-on magnetic end into the body of the flashlight and change the keyring hole to a smaller loop on the cylindrical edge so that it doesn't interfere with the magnetic end. ... show more
