I am in the process of updating my EDC and I had high hopes for this multi-tool. I liked the price and the fact that the tools all locked in place. The pliers have an internal spring, which I liked a lot. The internal tool selection is really good. BUT, the first time I used the pliers , they broke (see pictures). This is unfortunate, because the principle tool in "multi-tool" is of course the pliers/wire cutters. while the tool feels heavy duty, it is apparently made from cheap metal. Not up to the task. The media could not be loaded. I work in IT and wear many hats including facilities support. This all in one tool has helped me in so many ways in the short amount of time I've had it. I used the can opener yesterday because someone misplaced the company handheld can opener - that's one thing I didn't think I would use but thankful it's on this toolkit. I took a chance on this multitool. I am very happy l did. Solid and hefty, well machined and chromed tools. Each side has a pressure latch that makes selecting your chosen tool easy. Each tool snaps into a locked position with a good firm click, and can be released the same way. Blades are sharp, plier jaws mate nicely, and the internal spring makes the pliers easy to use with one hand. The wire cutter inside the jaws even has a wire stripping notch. My new truck go-to tool. I will try their combo hammer/hatchet tool next for my camper. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This multi-tool feels very well-built and has some weight to it. Definitely not flimsy. All of the individual tools that fold into the handle have a positive locking mechanism that requires release in order to fold it back into the tool’s handle. The plier portion is also spring-loaded, which allows for single-hand repositioning as may be necessary. I demonstrate these in the accompanying video. I had a Gerber 600 and a SOG PowerAssist, but I got robbed awhile back and lost it all. As a Medic, I felt the need to have a good multitool on me, but as I'm not made of money... I decided to go "off brand". I bought a Magnalex w/ bits and 2 RoverTac's and could not be happier with my decision. 12 in 1 tools, heavy duty construction, a 'locking' system for the blades, a good solid carry case... all this for a third of the cost of my previous multitools. I'm no huge fan of Chinese products, I'd rather buy American... but necessity being what it is, I had to go 'off brand' to replace what was stolen and not go broke. This is a sound, HD product that should provide me with years of good service... China has really up'd their game with this one. ... show more

Was hoping this would be replacement for my 20+ year Leatherman, which only failed because I lost it. My old multitool was solid steel, rivets and all, and I could use any outer surface of it as a hammer. But when I tried the same with the RoverTac, I quickly found the rivets are probably cheap steel at best or polished aluminum at worst, and well, it's falling apart as a result. I found the primary straight blade was not well honed, and couldn't cut even hard plastic blister packs well, risking my own fingers as I tried. The sawtooth blade was similar if not identical metal and would also dull fast. It's a pity, because the locking felt good, and it fit my hand ok, but if the rivets are not hardened steel, the tool just has no hope of lasting much abuse. I found all this out after I went past my return period, so I guess I'll have to pay more for the better build... ... show more

I've had a gerber multi tool for years and I'm not sure what sort of steel it's made of but I always had problems with the tools breaking or chipping. This particular RoverTac multi tool is HEAVY DUTY. It just feels incredibly solid in your hands. It's got a bit of weight to it but when you start pulling out the different tools you can see why. The tools feel like good steel and overall the construction feels like this should cost a lot more than around $20 or $30. I particularly like the locking mechanism. So the tools lock in place with I nice sturdy click. I don't think you'll be disappointed with this purchase if you're looking for a good multi tool and don't want to pay a lot of money. ... show more

I have to say that over the years I have had several multi tools and with this one it is a bit different in a good way. The size of it fits really well in my hand. I'm a larger man, 6' 3" almost 330 pounds and I have very large hands and this tool fits in my hands very well. I like the finish on this with the black and silver. Its functions are very easy and the release buttons on it are easily accessible too. I'm enclosing some pics to what it looks like. I was pleased by itself with the price, but now that I got it in I'm very pleased with this purchase as a whole. The only thing I would say, and it's not really is a negative thing is, you probably won't be able to carry this in your pocket as it takes up a bit of room. You will more than likely want to utilize the pouch that it comes with. You won't go wrong with this multitool. ... show more
