I started with a hyped at 13 lbs with a pearl finish because I wanted to learn how to hook and I thought with the lighter weight it would be easier. Unfortunately I'm a kinda big guy and completely overpowered that ball. Threw it way to hard/fast and It wouldn't react at all. Enter the roto grip solid 15 lbs hyped. Holy crap the difference. I throw much more accurate, quite a bit slower and it reacts to my minimal hook. I am a lefty, my hook starts on the second arrow and moves into the pocket from there. I had a 135ish avg with the 13 lb ball. With this one I've rolled at least 20 pins above my avg in every game minus a few. I went from 120's with the occasional 140 game to solid 150's even up to a 200 in one game. Mutiple 170's and 180 games as well. I know the weight carries more pins and also slowing the swing makes it more accurate. Just think before you grab any ole ball, or before you get a lighter ball because you think it will make you better. I've been an Ebonite/Hammer guy for the past 20 years I've been bowling. Ever since they sold to Brunswick however, I questioned the future quality of the brand. So I was looking up numerous review videos on Youtube of peoples 2019 favorite balls and whatnot, and the Halo and or Halo Pearl nearly made everyones list. I've never thrown a Roto Grip/Storm ball before, but I am a huge fan of strong pearls, so I decided to take a chance and boy am I glad I did. Aesthetically, this ball is definitely unique I actually love the pink/blue/black combination it's different. This is probably the strongest pearl I've ever thrown. I can use this right on the fresh, and it still can pick up from anywhere and make it back to the pocket. This ball has so much length, angularity, power and continuation through the pins it's unbelievable. This ball is very versatile for all styles whether you like to play straighter up the right, or move in left and really swing the lane and drive it in hard. Very consistent roll and easily gets through the front part of the lane. I can't compare it to the solid Halo because I haven't thrown that yet, but from what I've seen they work well together. This is a good ball so far. It has about 50-60 games on it, and during that time I noticed if you do anything slightly different with your approach and release, it has an incredibly drastic effect on how the ball reacts. First ball I’ve used with an asymmetric core this strong. I am a medium rev one handed bowler, and it has a lot of snap on the back end. As for how it looks, well it looks nice going down the lane but the ball that I got does not have as much swirl to the colors. It’s more blotchy and thick lines. 4.5/5 ... show more

This ball doesn't come predrilled, so you will need to have it set to your hand size at a pro shop or some bowling allies. That usually costs around 30 to 50 dollars. (Factor that into your decision.) I have to say it served me well as I would bowl low 150's on average with house balls. Once I purchased this ball and had set to my hand specifics, I bowled around a high 170 all night. The release is better and it went where I intended. I was expecting a slight improvement, but I underestimated what a custom bowling ball would do. ... show more

Hello bowlers!! I'm a local NH resident & avid bowler. I've been bowling for 20+ years. My first ever ball from Roto Grip was the Hypercell. In my first year of bowling with that ball I got my first 300 game in 2015. Now, I'm wanting more reaction, and better handling. Doing my research, I had 3 bowling balls to choose from to keep my 215 average. 1) Storm Soniq 2) Hammer Black widow Pink 3) Roto Grip Hypercell Fused. What made me choose Roto Grip again? Knowing how Roto Grips nucleus core works & performs was my selling point. I wanted the same angle at my original Hyper cell, but I wanted a delayed reaction down lanes, not the continuous Hook half moon arch I get currently with the hybrid cover stock as my hyper cell. ROTO GRIP NAILED THIS BALL FOR BOTH SPORT SHOTS & THS'S!! No other ball in its class gets the reviews or consistency as this pearl covered masterpiece. Shipping was unbelievably fast !! I ordered this ball on a Wednesday night and got it Saturday early afternoon. The ball was in perfect condition, no scratches, dings dents or proof of being handled by anyone. My first game I threw this ball I got 8 X'S in a row, and got the motion, reaction & performance which was lacking from my original hyper cell.
