  • This is an item no one should pass up!
Size: 62" X 82" Color: Acu Digital Camouflage
What else can one say, it is a woobie! I have had a poncho liner since I was a kid and when I enlisted it was the dearest piece of equipment I carried with me to the field. Both my boys have had their own but when we last moved the box with them disappeared. While the oldest son has enlisted and now has his own, our youngest son though misses his woobie. While I prefer the good old BDU pattern, our youngest saw his brother wearing his ACU's and that was all we heard about for days. When I saw this one online and for the price it was being sold for I could not pass it up. For those who do not know, a poncho liner is an amazing piece of technology. It is fairly thin and certainly does not weight but several ounces total. However it will keep you warm on a cold night and should the temperature fall below zero all you need to do is wrap this around you and crawl in to your sleeping bag. For the hot days it has tie straps in all the corners so you would be able to have overhead shelter from the sun. It will tie in to a poncho (hence the name) and help keep you warmer but for wet weather the ideal answer is to find an old Army wet weather top/bottom and take them and a liner to the seamstress and have them make you a Graf (Grafenwoehr) parka. That parka will keep you toasty and if you re-waterproof the seams it will keep you fairly dry during wet weather. This is also a wonderful item to include in your emergency preparedness kit/bug out bag or even to keep in the car. All in all this item is one of the most versatile pieces of gear a person can own. ... show more

  • Not the best but it works.
This is the second Rothco m-65 field jacket I have purchased. I am not a fan of the overall material and workmanship of Rothco products but, this camo pattern wasn't available from any other manufacturer. The subdued urban camo pattern on this jacket is a 4 color mix of grays and black. Almost looks like the army acu pattern but no khaki or green. If you look at the jacket under the typical yellowish "soft white" lighting that most people have in their homes, it looks very much like army acu camo. I washed it in cold water after I received it. The next wash will be in hot water to see how well the color stays. Typical of Rothco m-65 field jackets, the hood is attached to the jacket with what looks like a piece out of a pair of women's maternity pants. With the liner in, this jacket is very warm at temps as low as 20 degrees fahrenheit without wind. For colder temps, wear a hooded sweatshirt under the jacket. I have stayed fairly warm walking 2 city blocks in 25 below zero wind chill wearing a long sleeved shirt, hoodie and the jacket with liner. ... show more

  • Just what I wanted for price range
I ordered this jacket for three reasons, the fit, versatility and price. Fit: I am a big guy, so I ordered this in a large size. Even with the liner the jacket fits loose enough that I can wear layers underneath. The sleeves were a little long and wide, however I was able to cuff them back and use the velcro to adjust the width and keep the cuff in place. The cuff does not look odd or out of place. The jacket comes down below the waist but has a string to tighten around the waist if wanted. I have used the hood and it is a little large, but would prefer that than too small. Quality: the material the jacket is made out of is decent and is supposed to be water repellent. The outside is a dark digital camo color with inside lined in the same material in solid black. There are a few loose stitches here and there, but nothing that would concern me or warrant sending the jacket back. The zippers are metal, not plastic and seem to work without catching. The zipper comes down to about 6 inches from the bottom of the jacket and zipper has a 3" piece of fabric the same as the coat to serve as a zipper pull. The jacket has snaps in addition to the zipper that go all they way to within 4" of the bottom of the coat. The jacket snaps and pocket snaps are metal and stay snapped. There is a drawstring around the waist and bottom of jacket. The string is on par with a hoodie and seem to do the job, but I will probably replace it with paracord later. The liner snaps into the coat as it supposed to seems to stay in place just fine. It is a little cheaper material than I have seen in other liners of this price range. It has a crinkly sound to it. It can be worn separately without the jacket shell as a light layer, but does not have the extra buttons I have seen on other liners that allow it to be buttoned up. The hood is made out of the same fabric as the outer shell of the jacket and has a drawstring. When not in use it tucks into a zippped portion of the collar and is out of sight. All in all for the price range the jacket quality is good. Comfort: The jacket is stiff at first, but once broken in, it fits comfortably. I have worn the jacket without liner down to about 55 degrees while surf fishing. I was comfortable for a few hours until the spray cause the air to become really wet. Once that penetrated the jacket I was cold and had to insert the liner. In fairness I was only wearing a t shirt underneath. With the liner I have worn the jacket in much colder weather with layers underneath and was comfortable for short periods of time. It is not as warm as my down coat, but will probably keep you warm down to about 35-45 degrees with layers on. Overall I like the jacket at this price point and would recommend to a friend or buy again. The fit allows freedom of movement and the ability to wear layers underneath. The ability to add or remove the liner makes it comfortable over a larger range of temperatures. The quality is good for the price point. There are some loose threads and the material is not waterproof, but it cost 1/3 the price of a brand name jacket with those qualities. If the jacket exceeded the $80 price range, I might have to reconsider purchasing it. I have received compliments wearing the jacket. ... show more

  • NOGO At This Station
Size: 62" X 82" Color: Olive Drab
The durability leaves something to be desired. My 10 year old daughter used this for a week and the stitching was falling out everywhere. Lol, this thing was deconstructing. We order one from a chinese manufacturer and theirs was way better. I'd stay away from this wooby. I've honestly never seen one of these disintegrate so fast or in this fasion. Very cheaply made, for the same price as others. The Rip stop fabric pattern was more wide than I've ever seen before too. Usually is more tight to prevent the fabric from falling apart. Any combat arms or Blue Cord wearers will be extremely disappointed in this product. - Retired Infantryman. ... show more

  • Would not buy again...cheap knockoff of real thing
Size: 62" X 82" Color: Camo
I wish I had read a few more reviews and some of the questions that were asked on this. This product is a cheap knock off of the real deal and made in China. The colors are off as well as the feel. If you want a real version of this, make sure it was made in the US. I was thrown off by the Rothco name and the fact that it was designed to look like the real thing...even all the way down to the tag. ... show more
