The media could not be loaded. I remember when I was a kid I has my skates and in an effort to keep my kid away from TV and electronic as much as I can (though weather is not helping much), I got him a lot of things for outside activities. We all know kids feet go from size 8 to 13 so fast that you don’t even have time to blink before they need a new pair of shoes; therefore this feature of having them extend to allow for their growing feet is great. He will be able to use them hopefully a long time. The stakes themselves are pretty heavy, just like I remember from my own back then. The wheels don’t feel soft but they are not made of the same material my old skates were made out of; I guess that might be the case due to the material used so the lights can shine through. It does look huge – I mean, I reminds me of snow boots. The back has the plastic encasement that keeps the back in place while the rest of the shoe can be moved forward to adapt to the right size. It has two straps – one I guess keeps the front part of the shoe from sliding forward by accident (even though there is a button you must press for this to happen, but safety feature appreciated!). The shoelaces don’t go all the way up, instead they go halfway up and at the top you have another strap that adjusts the tightness on the top part. The inside lining has plenty of cushion and my child has not complained of discomfort. The illuminating wheels are definitely awesome! I am looking forward to go outside when it’s not 100+ degrees so we can see the lights at night. I really like them. I have attached a picture showing how big they look when you expand them -- I was worried they might be too big and the break would be in the wrong place, but that is not the case. ... show more

These skates are super cute. My daughter reports that they are comfortable. I wish the brand name wasn't all over them in huge ugly font - that's what kept me from giving 5 stars.

I got these to teach my 6 yr-old granddaughter to skate with me. I tightened up the wheels so they wouldn't roll so fast while she learns. They are nice skates. Fully cushioned & padded inside, with laces, velcro, and a clamp across. The wheels seem ok. They don't flash as bright as some wheels, but the skates are hot pink and purple, her two favorite colors. I do think the toe stops will need to be replaced, they are hard brittle plastic & will probably wear down pretty quick. She fell shortly after first trying & had a tantrum & wanted to throw them out, but now she's obsessed with them! Recommended buy! ... show more

These are way cuter than expected; the colors are so bright and neon. The small ones fit my 3.5 year old PERFECTLY and he’s a size 10C/11C. The stoppers are in the front. They are good quality and have shoelaces, and 2 different straps for security of the foot, ankles, and legs. My kid is definitely too young to skate on his own but you got to start somewhere so I help him so he doesn’t fall. ... show more
