  • Really Fun, A LOT of work
Style: DG - Kiki's Magic Emporium
The media could not be loaded. These set are so cool and detailed, but they are a large amount of work. I have done the greenhouse and magic emporium. The Greenhouse was really difficult and took a lot of time. The plants are very tedious. The magic emporium was much more manageable, but still challenging. I would highly recommend for people looking for a fun challenge. Would suggest going for one with little to no plants to start because they are a bit easier. Wouldn't recommend for beginners unless they have someone to help. But if you are a beginner and still want to give it a try make sure to go in with a lot of patience and understand that these are 20-30 hours of work. For one set, my led light didn't work and I contacted support. They sent me a replacement bulb free of charge(it took a while but it did come). So I can say that if a piece is missing or comes broken, they are very willing to replace your piece. ... show more

  • Great kit!
Style: DG - Cozy Kitchen
Loved this kit especially the snap together pieces. The only complaint is the light, you have to put it together from scratch. The wire breaks easily. I could only put up the bulb without the fixture.

  • Read the directions a couple times before you start.
Style: DG - Cathy's Greenhouse
This was my first mini. I loved it. It was rewarding and it's so cute when finished. I missed a couple of steps, because I wasn't used to the way the directions are laid out. The light might feel intimidating, but it really isn't. I have zero electrical experience but follow the directions and you'll be fine. I loved the glue provided. It's tacky and can be stringy, but it holds together well and it gives you a few minutes to reposition, in case you messed up. The stringy part was super annoying though. The nearly invisible strings would be attached to the little leaves or flowers and all of a sudden the flower would fly across the table. I do suggest you get a syringe with a decently wide tip for the glue. It's so much easier to control the amount. ... show more

  • Time consuming and challenging but lots of fun
Style: DG - Emily's Flower Shop
The media could not be loaded. I enjoyed making this a lot and I’m quite happy with how it turned out. A lot of this was very difficult and I recommend getting a better brand of glue - both a transparent craft glue and a white craft glue. The glue that comes with it is stringy - I used Aleene’s brand. You can also use better quality paint. Nail polish worked really well for little plastic pieces. I also recommend having an Exacto knife, a small needle nose pliers, wire strippers, and tweezers. You will also need a place to store your furniture and flowers as you make them, where they won’t get batted around by a curious cat (lesson learned the hard way.) The pieces are very tiny and you will drop a lot, so make sure you work in a place where you can find all of the beads and little pieces of papers that inevitably roll off the table. ... show more

  • Fun little project
Style: DG - Cathy's Greenhouse
Purchased this from my 13 year old, she felt it was a bit complicated for her taste so i took it over, and man am i glad. Its fun! Definitely not for the patient type, its a puzzle on steroids. Awesome detail, and size is the cutest!

  • PLEASE read this if you plan on building Cathy's Greenhouse
Style: DG - Cathy's Greenhouse
The media could not be loaded. So here's the thing. This is a gorgeous kit, but it is going to absolutely test your patience. This isn't a 5 hour build. It is not a 10 hour build. Plan on spending 25 - 30 hours at least. BUT - there are a few tips that will save your blood pressure down the line (especially #4 and #6 below): 1) Hand sanitizer is decent at removing glue. You'll want this when you accidentally get glue all over the plastic panes. I'm told acetone also works well, but it might also erase the black lines so use it with caution. 2) There are a handful of walkthrough videos on YouTube. You WILL want to reference these as the instructions are not always clear on assembly. 3) Some extra tools are going to be super helpful, have paper towels, Q-tips, and a working surface (I used a cardboard sheet) handy **4**) The final assembly is the hardest. To make final assembly easier, I STRONGLY recommend using a knife (or dremel if you have one) to make the holes/sockets *wider* than they come by default. When you assemble the plastic portion of the greenhouse, you glue some brown pieces to the base of the plastic sheets. Some of these brown pieces have slots in them - for when you perform the final assembly. Use your knife/dremel and make these slots LARGER before you glue them to the plastic. Same with the final base itself - make the receiving slots wider. It is going to make assembly a *million* times easier and save you from throwing your greenhouse out the window (or accidentally crushing it during assembly) in frustration. 5) The plastic sheets of the greenhouse have protective film on them. Keep the plastic ON while you're glueing everything together, but take it OFF before you glue the black trim on. The instructions are not very clear about this. Cut along the edges with a sharp knife to make removal easier 6) When it comes to the wiring, do NOT hard wire to the battery pack until you are assembling the final circuit box in the back. Again the instructions aren't clear about this and I had to make some manual modifications to get the wires to fit properly. Plus - it's annoying to manipulate the greenhouse with the battery pack attached I would recommend this, but it is NOT for the impatient. Take your time, save it for rainy nights, build this over a few weeks or months and it will treat you well. ... show more

  • Fun Gifting
Style: DG - Dora's Macaron Rooftop
Just discovered these sort of puzzles. Although I think the remind me of model car kits. A sweet young friend (20ish) loves a good puzzle and when I saw this particular one it looked like a place she’d be living. As it turns out she loved it and wishes it was. It included everything she needed to put it together. Fun project if you are looking for a fresh take on ‘puzzles’ ... show more

  • Didn't Finish
Style: DG - Cathy's Greenhouse
Positives: It's beautiful. The materials are good quality, and everything just looks good. Negatives: This is not for newbies or people who get frustrated. There are so many pieces that have to be put together just so. You can't be off by even the most micro measurement because the next part won't fit. Some of the exterior parts were incredibly difficult to put together and then popped out when I thought I was done with that part. Had to take some pieces apart and redo because they turned out to be slightly off which threw off the next part of the construction. Gave up with 3/4 done making it the only one of MANY miniatures I've not completed. ... show more
