This is the 3rd wood kit that I built. I've since built 7 more. This was definitely the most complex. It is alot of fun to play. Both flippers work, it plays music upon start-up, it makes sounds when the marble passes different sensors, it keeps score and has LED lighting. It isn't an inexpensive kit, but well worth it. I recently completed ROKR's Marble Night City, when I saw the 3D Pin Ball Machine advertised. It has all of the "bells and whistles" that pin ball machines have, except in miniature form. It is a quite detailed circus theme. I decided to paint it, and it took me around 100 hours, but it was worth the time. The puzzle parts are precision cut, and fit tightly, but you need to align them correctly, or they will not slide in easily and lock. I purchased a 70 degree needle nosed plyers, and trust me, they will be needed. It is a level six puzzle, but the instructions are so detailed to be almost fool proof. in addition, there are QR codes that will guide you through the detailed parts. Hooking up the electronics was easy as each port is well marked. The lights and sounds are bright and crisp' I did not know what to expect, but they exceeded it. It is fun to assemble and observe the engineering that went into this puzzle. My wife, I, my son and granddaughter are having a blast playing with it. Friends who come over also have enjoyed it. Everyone says that it reminds them of when they played pin ball as a kid , and brings back warm nostalgic memories. Pricey, but well worth it. ... show more

Buy this because you want a kit, not because you want a pinball machine :) The build is one that takes a while to put together which is a plus for some, con for others. I did this while watching TV and finagling things on the couch which slowed me down, so it was around a 20 hour build. The instructions are pretty spot on, so this was a good, relaxing experience. It is definitely fun to assemble, but you REALLY need to pay attention during the build. Due to the scale, there are steps that would require many other disassembly steps to fix if messed up. It is possible to break the parts, but they include a healthy amount of spares. The kit as a pinball machine is meh. It is a toy and wasn’t expecting too much, but the sensors often pick up ghost triggers. The mute switch isn’t programmed well either, so you can’t fully silence the kit and keep the lights…the music will randomly start regardless. There are a couple playability issues with the kit where the ball gets stuck on ramps or the ramps are so steep that you can’t get the ball up. Again, I wasn’t expecting much, but this could be tuned in future revisions. The lights are flashy and fun. It would be awesome if there were more sensors and toys on the playfield to trigger them, but for the price it is pretty good. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This thing is awesome! It really functions like a mini pinball machine. We used stain and marker to add color without affecting functionality. Floor could use a little sanding to smooth out, but it works well. We've been playing now for a couple days and it's holding up. Everything functions properly. Really a fun build that takes days. The lights, sounds, scoring, gameplay and more are fun. I just wish the game wouldn't end after you reach 1000 points which is pretty easy to do with one ball.

My husband received a different one of these sets for Christmas and he loved putting it together so I decided to get him this one for Father's Day and he loved! It was challenging but he was able to get it done in a few days. This will do a point tracking system and plays music that can also be turned off if the song starts get to be too much(I find myself humming it all the time) we do have a toddler that likes to play with it and while little decorative pieces have not stayed put the machine overall holds up really well. We've just glued some of the pieces down to prevent them from falling off. I definitely recommend this or anything from this brand for anyone who likes projects like this. This was a fun and challenging project. I have assembled two of their kits previously but this was the most fun. I only broke 2 parts during assembly but extra parts are provided just in case. It took about 20 hours to assemble. I did use some wood glue in the ramps to help keep everything aligned. It works perfectly too. A great and enjoyable kit. ... show more
