  • Great for the detail oriented modeler
I enjoyed the challenge of properly assembling this kit into a fully functional outcome. Some parts were quite delicate and broke during assembly but medium CA glue made quick and easy repair. Good kit and detail for the price. Finished model is pretty durable and a good size to leave out as a conversation piece. ... show more

  • Worth the effort!
The media could not be loaded. This was a really fun project that took me around 7 or 8 hours in total to put together. If patience, or working with small and delicate parts is a challenge for you, you might get frustrated. As others have mentioned, maybe not ideal for kids, especially the build, but mine love cranking the handle and watching it work. I really like the continuous motion of it. Once you load the bearings, you only need to touch the handle, and it’s mesmerizing to watch it operate! It’s a really handsome piece of art perfect for a study or den. The pieces are precision cut, and I managed to separate them all from the boards without breaking them, but you do need to be careful and deliberate with them. I’d also recommend having a large surface to work with. Some precision tweezers also helped. The directions are picture based and well-drawn and thought out, but they are a little on the small side, so you may need to take pictures and zoom in to see details from time to time. Overall, a really fun project and I’m pleased with my purchase! ... show more

  • Difficult. Fragile parts. Very impressive design.
The kit is a work of art! Very impressive manufacturing... That said, this build will absolutely test your patience and core finger strength. Parts are very fragile and difficult to assemble. You need to apply just the right amount of pressure in just the right place -popping out the pieces and putting them together takes a lot of focus. Sometimes felt like using my whole body stength to fit these tiny wood pieces together without breaking them. Precision pressure and patience is required. Instructions have some errors. Expect frustrations. Work carefully. It's a neat build ... show more

  • Well designed, fun to assemble.
While this is definitely not for kids, I really enjoyed putting it together. The pieces are very accurately cut and well-marked. You have to be careful not to break them, some a pretty fragile. Once you get acquainted with how things go together it isn't a problem. I broke a couple of pieces, but they were easily repaired with some wood glue. The instructions are all pictures and some were a little small, but I took a pic with my phone and zoomed in to figure those out. There are also some videos that help (QR codes in the manual direct you to the videos.) There were a couple of times that i tried to make something work before completing the assembly and was worried that things didn't align properly, but later steps in the assembly fixed every issue. If you are impatient, or have trouble following instructions closely, this isn't for you, but I loved it. I ordered my second one just a few days after completing the first one. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • It’s pretty cool
It’s a good puzzle. definitely have to have a little patience, putting it together. couple of very small issues with the directions, but overall pretty easy to follow. It helps to have a little glue And active agent for the glue. For fast drying. Would recommend this to anybody

  • Difficult to put together.
While the instructions were detailed, it was hard to put the model together. This is due to the pictures not being zoomed in far enough to clearly see what and where each piece was to be added. Also, the structure is not well supported during the build which led to the pieces being too close together. There is a piece, A13, that is fragile but is key to a large part of the build so be careful when handling it. The first section is essentially made of pieces put together as "pages" that slot into the base. It might be better to put each of those pages together firs and then slotting them together with additional parts to keep them spaced correctly. Perhaps, also, putting it together with extra lighting might help. ... show more

  • Cool little project
This was a fun little project, but you definitely need some patience to do it. This isn’t really for kids unless you are supervising them. These parts are tougher than they look, but you can still easily break them. Have some glue ready to go (not included). The instructions are good for the most part; I would have been willing to pay a little more for color instructions, but they are fine as is. There are a couple of parts that should have been made a little thicker, particularly the ramps. You end up trying to bend wood and it’s not really flexible. You can make it work, but it can be a chore. But it’s a solid little project. Should take 6-10 hours; probably not a one day project. ... show more

  • ROKR Night City Marble Run LGA01
Overall, a nice kit. The laser cutting was excellent. Some of the dyed pieces chipped revealing bare wood, but ok. I had to use some superglue on some pieces as they did not fit tight enough. On step 13, you need to round off the bottom of the two paddles (the wood "pins" where they mount into the plastic pieces), otherwise they will not work properly. Be patient, there is a lot of "tweaking" to get the steel balls to run properly. The lightning effects on the videos are for dramatic purposes only! There is NO LIGHTNING on this kit. Otherwise, it would have been a 5 star. ... show more
