I'm on my second pair in 12 years. The first pair lasted 8 years of severe winter use for 6 months of the year before they started breaking down and leaking through. I have been wearing rocky boots for the past 2 decades in the Army and in the oilfield and always loved how comfortable they were right out of the box. These boots unfortunately were the complete opposite. Instantly it was pain, and yes I adjusted the laces to several different levels of tightness or looseness however you want to look at it and nothing made these boots a pleasure to wear. I wear these boots almost every day and i like them a lot. I use these in place of 6 year old bates boots that finally needed replacing. Initially, i hated them because of that rubber band. it dug into my ankles and it felt like bone pain, however, after using a different lace pattern; going straight up through the eyelets attached to the rubber band instead of crossing over into the eyelets (X=XX), they have become MUCH more comfortable. The only issue i have is they are slightly bulky, which makes running and fine foot movements something to get used to. ... show more
