  • Unique and Fun!
The media could not be loaded. I wasn’t too sure how this would end up, but it was a fun weekend project. Some of the instructions can be difficult and some pieces broke on me. But very few compared to the amount they have in the set. The end result is worth it, it’s super cute and a nice statement piece on my book shelf. I’m definitely buying more miniatures. The details are amazing, they thought of every little part of the piece. ... show more

  • Nice and different from others
I have submitted a review earlier saying that the instructions were unclear and black and white. Now that I finished working on it I still standby what I said that I prefer colorful instructions. They are actually quite clear and easy to do…maybe too easy with the snap in slots. Tip: useful to have a small hammer on hand when those slots are hard to fit. The slots provide easy and quick guide but sometimes feel redundant. I personally prefer the plants to be made of dried flowers instead of those plastic paper that can easily be detached. Of course I like it that I don’t have to cut and glue some signs because they are just stickers….all that too easy. The reason I still give it a three star is that the battery pack they provide didn’t work. Luckily I have spare ones. It looks nice when finished but looks more like a pop up card with lights. That said, it does make a nice gift for someone who likes gardening. ... show more

  • I loved it; sad it's completed
I can't possibly express how much I thoroughly enjoyed this project. I've always loved miniatures. Like those little villages, just seeing all the little things that go into making tiny scales of things. This was my first time doing a miniature kit. Now I'm worried because I'm addicted to it as a craft hobby and where do you even put all of them once they're built? Anyway, like I said, this was my first experience with these. It took me about two weeks working a little bit each evening. It wasn't overly difficult for me to figure out the instructions, though it did take me a quarter of the way through to figure out when and where I was supposed to glue things. It's not immediately obvious because the instruction panel will start off with a glue symbol but not tell you where to glue specifically. The glue itself is kind of odd because it dries with a kind of blue tint and can be runny. Use as little as possible and hold the items together for a few minutes to give them time to hold. I ended up gluing the blanket onto the chair to make it look more natural. I glued the pillow as well to keep it upright but it's a hard heavy pillow so I had to hold it and let it sit until it fully dried and held. With the floor lamp don't push it into the shade until it clicks. Idk if it's supposed to go that far and I played h*ll getting it disconnected after putting it together wrong. The stickers for the books are super cute, but some of the stickers are bizarre and unoriginal. Like they just say Rolife or Garden. Just a bunch of advertising and weird labels. At the end I realized I forgot to put a sticker on the door. It's too difficult to try to get it back on there now. Since I was a beginner I missed things like that but the majority was straight forward. It comes with a piece of sandpaper so make sure you sand the edges of the wood before putting them together. You may also need to sand the connection pieces to get them to fit. Just gently sand out the edges where they connect and try the piece again. A few pieces did break on my when trying to connect but luckily just some wood on the top peeling back. Luckily nothing broke off, but you can always glue it if it does. The hardest part was probably the wiring at the very end but it wasn't too bad. I just hadn't done it before. The "glass" panes are a pain to get together so be delicate with those and take your time. Also, it doesn't come with the batteries so make sure you get those. In the end it was a very fulfilling project for me and I'm sad it's finished as much as I loved it lol. It helps to have some tools such as tiny tweezers ... show more

  • I really wanted to like this : (
Bought this for myself for my birthday since I love model kits AND it could be a beautiful night light! Putting it together was relatively easy but the box where you put the batteries in stopped working within a day! I’m going to have my husband look at it and maybe we’ll try and buy a new power box for it and try to rewire it but I’m not holding out much hope sadly. Everything else was cool, but I just don’t think the power box for the lights works good. ... show more

  • Great cozy greenhouse design!
Been wanting to try these rolife DIY miniature kits and I love the look of booknooks so this one really hits all the right buttons for me! Also I love the greenhouse designs the most! Since its clear on most of the sides this would look great at difference angles. Since there's clear plastic all around it as the windows dusting this would be pretty easy! This miniature set is pretty easy to do since its mostly just snapping the pieces off and pushing them into the assigned holes. There's no real skills needs to make these! Glue, screwdriver, and sandpaper is already included so you just need 2 AAA batteries. You may also need an hobby knife to help cleanly cut out parts. This kit has alot of pieces so this took me quite awhile too make! It came with a huge booklet that comes in multiple languages. The booklet is only in black and white, but I find the instructions to be relatively easy to follow and understand. Its not different from other diy miniature kits or other diy products. The parts all have holes and/or a peg that goes into the holes. There's clear outlines on where certain parts go to. I am surprised at how well fitted everything is. There's a variety of wood used, but some are a bit more fragile than others. So I do recommend carefully taking the parts off. The majority of the parts are flat so the diorama itself does kind of have this old video games graphics with all the flat shapes. The wood in A and B I find to be the most fragile and easily splintered. I definitely would advise snapping over the something like a trashcan or mat so all the bits of wood can be collected and easily thrown away safely to prevent injury. Or use a hobby knife to cut out the parts more cleanly. Not all the parts have extras so carefully put the parts together in the correct way as taking them off to correct it could result in breaking something. I have already have some of the pegs get damaged because I wasn't careful, but it hasn't hinder the look or enjoyment of the final result! There are two plastic white tubes that is meant to house the wire. Both tubes are of different lengths and the instructions ask for these to be cut at certain lengths. Both tubes or not of the same length! I ended up using the longest piece to cut up the shorter lengths. The other tube is not long enough to cut to the longest length so be sure to cut the right one! This book nook is pretty lightweight. I don't trust it will be stable with books against it but it depends on the books. I think it looks great by itself as well. Its tall enough to fit a figure if you wanted too. Its about 9.5" tall and the opening is nearly 7" tall. It is rather cramped and cluttered on the inside since its so busy. The LED lighting also works great! I like that it touch activated too. Overall I highly recommend it and I will probably like to get another one if they made another similar to this! The other ones seem to be just outdoor scenery which is nice, but I'd like one that I can fit a figure inside. The scale on the scenery ones seem way to small for the figures I have. ... show more
