Context: I've done exactly one of these before and fell in love. When I found this one, I jumped on it. In these crafts, quality definitely matters as I found out, and this one is quality. This is incredibly fun to build. I will admit I'm not fully done with it, but I can still happily opine on the quality of what I'm working with. The materials are more than just wood and glue. First, there's no glue. There are peel-and-stick glue dots included to be placed as instructed, there are tiny strips of double-sided tape when instructed, but no liquid glue. There are stickers, wire, plastic and card-stock paper plants and plastic pots, there are little metal doorknobs, and clear plastic pieces with pictures on them to place behind windows for ambience. It's fabulous. The wooden pieces fit together perfectly. Nicely snug without being ridiculous. Extremely consistent cuts so everything fits, not just some of them. The instructions are remarkably clear for simple pictographs. There's a little sanding square included just in case there are burrs on the pieces (I'm over half done and I think I've sanded 3 times). There's a tiny screwdriver to work on the battery pack. There is no set of tweezers, though. I had the pair from my one and only other set that I kept, and I'm glad of that. A nice curved-nose tweezers with a silicone cap is very useful if you can get your hands on one. The cap not only protects the tweezers, if you keep it on, it works great to help pop out smaller pieces without marring them with the pointy tip. This is incredibly good quality and super fun. I can see why it's a bit pricey. The other kit I got was cheaper but not nearly as good quality; the tab ends squashed and frayed, the paper parts weren't card stock, no interesting pieces at all, and the images on the pieces were dark and slightly blurred. This kit is nothing like that. It's the opposite of that in every way. If you like these adorable models, I highly recommend this one. ... show more

    • Great kit
I've gotten a few of the items from this company now. Their name has changed from Robotime to Rolife, I don't know why. But the quality is still the same. Everything is very well made. The wood pieces are laser cut perfectly. I gave this set and another of their book themed sets to my nearly 10 year old boys to put together. They were able to do it, although they needed help a couple of times and there was some frustration. That isn't the fault of the set though, it's listed at ages 14 and up, so my kids were a bit too young for it. 14 is probably a good guideline, the only reason I let my sons put it together is that they are really good with detailed things and following instructions for their age. Probably from lots and lots of experience with Lego. The only thing that could be improved is that the little double sided tape pieces they provide are very hard to get the backings off of the front and the back. My kids were able to get it eventually and we also used a bit of double sided tape that I already had. Not a huge deal, but that could be improved. ... show more

This is cute! It's a lot of fun to put together and my only complaint is that some of the printing seems a little 'low-res' (for lack of a better term. For the price however, it's not really a huge deal, but I want to be accurate with my review. I would definitely look at more of their offerings in the future, it looks cute on my bookshelf and that's the important thing. ... show more

I spent a few days working on this one but only worked on it for a few minutes at a time when I had a free moment. I ended up gluing some parts together so I would have to wait until they set before continuing on to the next step. I don't have anything bad to say about this book nook. I didn't have a single piece break on this one and never had any issues getting the final parts to come together for the final book nook. On some book nooks that final step is cranky but this one snapped together just perfectly. The pieces are well labeled and the book is very helpful. It gives very easy to follow instructions and helpful hints. The effects on this one were pretty neat. From the shop window, to the mirrors, balcony, ceiling view and even to the real looking doorknobs -- I just liked all of the visuals they had in this one. This one had some crafting with it to make the plants and flowers and such. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who likes the crafting in combination with snap together wood pieces. This is the first time ordering a Robotime Book Nook kit and now I want more! A clever concept that is fun, creative, and made with quality materials with an illustrated & easy-to-understand instruction booklet. I especially like how beautifully crafted the individual pieces are and all the tiny embellishment that come together to create such a richly layered look. We are just getting started with ours and so far, it’s been easy and straight-forward, with pieces punching out easily and everything working as it should. This is a good creative Book Nook Kit from Rolife. It has over 150 pieces, requires no glue but does need 2 AAA batteries to power the LEDs. It’s rated 3 1/2 stars (out of 5 ) for difficulty and it’s aimed at 12+ years to adult. The directions are clear and it even includes a piece of sandpaper to smooth down rough edges. Fun to build a big plus in no glue needed and it includes a Dust Proof Sheet to protect it from dust. ... show more
