Yes it is good quality and fun, and fewer pieces than Lego -- you will just need a little screwdriver, which is included! But yes, grownups, this is electricity and your same-minute help will be needed when the kid gets stuck a couple of times. This STEM Science Technology Engineering & Math Robotics Kit should be fun for kids and their parents. This kind of kit is something that the family can do as a project to teach one’s children how to figure things out. There are clearly enough motors, gears, parts galore along with loads of fiber optics and colored lights to build so many different devices, toys and practical devices. The limit here lies more the one’s imagination than anything else. This may be one of the more stimulating kits that I have seen on Amazon for the money. This STEM project Kit will keep young hands and minds active for quite a long time. If your child is doing well with Legos and can follow instructions, then this is an obvious next step for them. It will take some adults help every now and then to help them understand what + and – is on a battery and not to connect wires, batteries, and motors for the robots. This kit will stimulate their desire to learn more, if encouraged. The parent will need to be the judge as to what age to connect the child with this kit. I sat down with my daughter to help her put this together and granted my daughter is older and doesn't need my help. She put it together and it turned into a quiz for her and I more than anything. The pieces are very good quality, strong and well made. This had different aspects that other Robotics kits didn't offer and that was great! This is a great variety set of Robots. I like that each Robot is individually packaged. However, even though the Product Description states that it's for Ages 6 and Up --- the box clearly states Ages 8+ which is more realistic. These kits contain many very small parts and require significant manual dexterity to build. Good product but suggest gifting to older child/adult enthusiast or plan on working right along side younger child during entire build. ... show more

I absolutely LOVED building this set with my daughter and can't recommend it enough! I've even recommended my sister get the same set for her kiddos as it worked flawlessly out of the box with easy to understand instructions for kids. For the price, I don't think you can get a better robotics kit!
