This is the first box spring fame that I've owned that required assembly, and I was quite sceptical about the purchase. I read some mixed reviews regarding the assembly as well, but traditional box springs just seem difficult to find these days, so I reluctantly made the purchase. Firstly, the assembly was an absolute breeze! I was back in my bed, atop my newly assembled box spring, in about 20 minutes. I will say that the instructions are little more than some pictures, so if you are not a "visual learner", or you completely lack any mechanical knowledge, then you may be better off with something else. For the people out there that have even the most basic mechanical/problem solving ability, you should find this to be an extremely easy assembly. That said, I also looked at some similar items that were tool-less assembly, and decided against it. My reasoning is that fasteners can be tightened as wear occurs, but things that snap together will just wear out. This gets to the next thing I really like, which is the noise level. NONE! It makes no noise at all, and with fasteners that I can tighten, hopefully it stays that way. Lastly is the comfort that I had no idea I was missing from my mattress. It's amazing the difference a solid base makes for my old mattress, I really think I could keep this old girl for another 5-10 years. Very happy so far, but we shall see how it holds up after a few break-in sessions. ... show more

It was bent in several places. Couldn't use all bolts, and couldn't tighten some that I did. Makes the frame unsturdy. I'm going to use it temporarily in an air bnb, but will be purchasing a traditional box spring next time, as this was a bit time consuming to assemble for what it is. Would've worked well and been super sturdy if it weren't for damage. I have it 3 vs 1 star for that reason. ... show more

I got California king size and it's nice and sturdy, I wish the top was more solid e.g. like particle board or something. But it was super easy to assemble and less than half the price of the toothpick box springs from the big box store. Overall very pleased¡
