This is a review of my first impressions as I've just unboxed this an hour ago, but a couple of things to start off - I'm a fairly new keyboard enthusiast and 1) I prefer lower profile keycaps (XDA and DSA specifically), and 2) I've never personally had a 96% keyboard, I've only ever purchased 65% and 75% TKL. The numpad /extra room on the right is definitely an adjustment to have on my own desk. I was immediately impressed with the switches and sound quality of the keyboard. It sounds great! very creamy and satisfying sounds as I'm typing, straight out of the box. I plan to switch the keycaps over to a preferred xda set that I already own, but aside from that (or if you prefer or don't mind cherry keycaps) this is a really decent board. The base is just as substantial as some other keyboards I've gotten, it's almost as hefty as an iqunix board I have. The knob and LCD screen are very nice. I was just using an epomaker TH80-X and the knob is so much smaller in comparison, but it's honestly the perfect size, and the LCD screen is so easy to use and there are so many customizable options for backlight colors and styles. I was so close to regretting this purchase but I'll recommend this board pretty highly, especially if you like cherry keycaps and have enough deskspace to justify a 96%. ... show more

WOW. Honestly the best keyboard I’ve ever had, 2nd mechanical. Out of the box it was ready to go and took less than 10 seconds to get it going My bad for getting the linear switches but they are awesome. Construction is solid. perfect for me but it is heavier than most keyboards i have had. The size is perfect too. Last one was a Corsair and it took up practically my whole desk. This one is nice and compact wasting no space. It was charged at 70% out of the box and took about an hour or so to charge to 100% i think. Wasn’t paying that much attention. Plugged in the dongle and in less than 10 seconds it was ready to go there too. The display is easy to navigate. The keys are solid, sound great and it looks great taking up way less space on my desk. I messed up and got the linear switches and was going to order some tactile but after playing with it, im going to wait. I really like the performance of this keyboard. I like the versatility of the corded and wireless options when I’m moving around. I doubt you will be disappointed getting this one. ... show more

    • A must have for anyone looking for an amazing sounding keyboard!

When I first got a gaming PC, I figured I didn't really need a super expensive keyboard and that a cheap one that sounded "clicky" and had lights was fine enough. I also didn't want to bother with charging a wireless keyboard. However, I started to hear from YouTube videos and TikToks about "creamy" and "thocky" keyboards. I immediately started to do research, because I was obsessed with the sound. This is one of those rare purchases that I cannot stop thinking about how happy it makes me. I have absolutely no qualms with it. Here's what I love: The sound is excellent. Videos that I watched were a good indicator, but as other reviews have said, they really do not do the keyboard justice for how it actually sounds. The letters themselves are very creamy, while the function buttons (spacebar, shift, enter, backspace, etc.) have a much deeper "thocky" sound to them. If you're on the fence, at least try it and return if it's not for you. The functionality is incredible. There are a ton of lighting options that you can play with. You can mess around with them in the software on your PC. But because this keyboard has a small LCD screen, you can also change them directly on the keyboard itself. I have mine set to light up the entire keyboard cyan from whichever key I press, expanding out. Speaking of the LCD screen, you're able to upload GIFS or images to the screen, which is a really cool feature. As far as connectivity, you have every imaginable option available to you. I have my gaming rig connected via the 2.4USB wireless adapter. You can also connect up to three devices via bluetooth. And of course you can opt to hardware in. I love the the keyboard has both a USB-A and USB-C port. I am a huge advocate for technology having USB-C as an option, as it is much more convenient, provide faster transfer times, and faster charging times. Speaking of charging, the battery life on this keyboard is excellent. I seem to get about a week's worth of charge with extreme use daily. I know that the keyboard is hot swappable, meaning you can swap out the switches, which ultimately determine the sound of the keyboard, but personally, I haven't messed with that, as I love the way it sounds now. Overall, this is an excellent keyboard. If you're in the market for a wireless keyboard that sounds great, this is the best option out there! I typically don't like spending a ton of money on stuff unless I am absolutely sure of its value, and let me put your mind at ease that this keyboard is worth so much more than what the price tag shows. ... show more

    • Good keyboard with some drawbacks

The keyboard came in a reasonable amount of time. I am using this as my main work keyboard. Battery life, overall, is a bit poor - uses about 70% of the battery in a 24 hour period, 14+ hours IDLE (using RF dongle - not bluetooth). The volume control is nice but percentage does not sync unless you have the software installed. The clock is a nice touch but worthless if you do not install RK's software as there is no way to change the clock from the keyboard. Contracted RK support about this and they said that this was not "yet" a feature but seeing as this keyboard has been out for some time, I doubt that is going to be provided in a future update. I have the software on my personal computer at home and was able to get the clock synced but is now approximately 45 seconds off since disconnecting from that PC and brought into work (no software on work PC due to security). This keyboard sounds amazing! The keycaps are double shot and have a nice texture to them, grippy without being sandpaper. LEDs are south facing. 5 pin switches preinstalled, pregreased, and thocky. The connection options are nice with RF, Bluetooth, and wired capabilities. I opt for RF but still leaches the battery. Not a bad keyboard but if you are putting in sessions of gaming, plug this thing in or you will likely drain the battery and miss that last move. ... show more
