  • A True Ronin
This game makes you truly feel like a Ronin in a Western-influence 1800s Japan. The character creator is top notch-- you can choose male or female character and create two characters. There are 3 difficulty options, but the medoum difficulty is still a fun challenge. Very complex and satisfying combat with deep combat skill trees. Lots of loot, with different abilities depending on the weapon types. You can craft, upgrade weapons and armor, get set bonuses for different rarities of armor, do side quests, level up, the list goes on. The graphics throughout the game are actually quite good for whatvwe are getting once you actually get into it and play for yourselve. Give it a shot! ... show more

  • My Game Of The Year
People want to compare this to an Ubisoft game and...sure. But We aren't getting that Japanese Assassin's Creed game we all have been wanting anytime soon now are we? This game takes the time saving mechanics of Ubisoft game. Calling your horse and getting on it anywhere you are. Quick grabbing resources while out in the fields. Plus a combat and stealth style similiar to modern Assassin's Creed games but also combined with Nioh controls to change styles and equipped items. I love this game and genuinely do not understand why this game is getting under-looked and not talked about more. Especially compared to Dragons Dogma 2. The combat, traveling and collecting are all really fun. Also, for anyone who loves Nioh/ Wo Long, I would say if you love that combat you will love this. It is as fast as Wo Long while also having some of the style complexities of Nioh. If you love samurai/ninja games or just love the Team ninja games, try this game. If you enjoy open world games but don't the game to waste your time with bs, I would also say try this game. ... show more

  • Incredibly fun combat, exploration, and story building
This game is spectacular. Its combat is esoteric and profound as well as thrilling and heart-beating. I love character- and narrative-building based on choices (e.g., anti-Shogunate vs. pro-Shogunate). Exploration is also fun, and there are numerous activities in the open world.

  • Smooth Combat
This game has an easy learning curve once you have an easy idea on how to parry or consistently know how to parry. Straight forward open world map, it's doing everything by the book when it comes to open world. Story is okay, the OST is a pleasure to listen to. Character are loveable and are a joy to talk to. It gives the world in the game life. ... show more

  • Counter is broken, to extreme and is mandatory mechanic
I been playing for over 5 hour just to complete beginning tutorial and 1st mission. Playing on normal difficulty. The moves have almost zero telegraphy. It seems you need to memorize more than anticipate or react to moves. When push the counter button there is a short delay as well, it seems almost impossible to perform. I can get lucky to get a counter off but rarely. All combat heavily depends on counterspark, their name for counter. Didn’t have these issues other games even on harder difficulties. Did a quick google search seems to be a very much wide spread problem. Also in missions enemies respawn so if searching for stuff/keys you will keep running into same enemies over and over. Wouldn’t be so annoying if not for broken combat. Game looks like it would be amazing. There’s no way going to spend 5hrs on maybe 15 minutes of game play. Got the game delivered this morning and already deleted and boxed it. Such a waste ... show more

  • Amazing game
I don't know why people say this game isn't that good when reviewing it. But to me, it's been an awesome journey and can't wait to see what it has in store. Gameplay is great and love how it has a different selection of weapons to use.
