RIO’s Avid series of fly lines were developed for the keen fly fisher with tapers and technology that enhance the fly fishing experience. The lines are designed for easy casting performance, with slightly heavier and shorter head lengths. Each line is built on a supple memory-free core, and has a super slick coating for easy distance. A welded loop on the front end allows anglers to rig easily.

This line casts really well and shoots through the guides. It's on the heavy side, which helps a beginner like me. The only issue I have is kind of a huge one; the memory on this line is out of control. I've stretched this line out with my hands, and a straightener tool and it's just a curly mess every time I pull line off the reel. Works great and seems to be durable so far after one 5 day fishing trip. Casts very well and is smooth through the poles eyelets and your hands. Bright color is easy to see even in low light conditions.

Coming over from SA fly line I am very unimpressed with this line. It feels very cheap and holds a memory very badly. It is worse than off brand Amazon fly line that came on my first reel.

I bought this line for a second fly reel for a 10 ft nymphing fly rod. The line releases through the guides very easy and floats great. The loop is a treat for replacing leaders and the price was very reasonable.

This line casts well, especially for big streamers. Find that it can get awkward casting nymph rigs at a short distance and does not roll cast as well as one would hope. Most of all though, I have had this line in the water probably 60 days, mostly in Alaska and some in oregon, and it has gotten really dirty. I have also noticed that a crack at the start of the welded front loop has started and is almost torn all the way around U am not very impressed with the longevity of this fly line. ... show more
