I needed a simple-to-install wireless video surveillance camera for my back yard that would work with my existing Ring video doorbell setup. I was able to get everything unboxed, installed, and working in under 45 minutes. The Ring mobile app makes the whole process very easy overall. The camera, solar panel, and accompanying components are all extremely well made and should last a long time. I have attached this item to my Spotlight Cam Pro and then to my Stick up Cam battery (3rd gen). It made absolutely no difference to the battery life; each battery continued to drain as before. The panel receives about five hours of direct sunlight. Waste of money, NOT recommended I returned the item and it was replaced. Amazing this fully charges our ring spotlight cam pro even on cloudy days. I’m very impressed. No more changing or recharging batteries. Easy to install. It just works. It works so good on very sunny day the app confused that the cam was now plugged into electrical outlet and asked if I wanted to change its power setting to plugged in. Of course I left it set to solar panel but it’s cool that this panel works so well. It’s been keeping the battery above 90% ever since installing the panel. Very pleased. ... show more

    • This charges two Ring stick up cameras!

I bought my first Ring camera solar panel to charge two battery powered Ring stick up cameras at once, and it works perfectly (one Ring stick up camera, and one stick up pro camera. In case anyone wants to try this, I ran the panel cable to a USB-C tee fitting to split the power to the two cameras. The tee will not fit into the stick up pro camera USB-C port as there is not enough room, so I had to buy a short USB-C dongle to connect from the tee to the camera at that point. Then I bought a short USB-C extension cable to run from the other end of the tee fitting to the Ring stick up camera, then used the Ring USB-C to barrel connector dongle to power that camera. The solar panel power connector obviously fit to the middle of the tee fitting. For weather protection I added a short piece of heat shrink tubing, with a touch of RTV silicone at each end on all of the tee connections to make them waterproof. Additional info: I have three Ring stick up cameras, and one stick up pro. Two of the cameras are easily accessible to replace the batteries, so I didn’t bother running solar power to them at first. After replacing the low batteries with fully charged spares several times, I decided I didn’t want that hassle anymore, so I tried to split the power from one solar panel to all four cameras to see if it would work, but it couldn’t keep up. All of the cameras kept going down in power. So I broke down and bought a second solar panel, and now I have two panels, each charging two cameras, and they are working great. I did not try three cameras on one panel as I was going to need a second one anyway, so I don’t know if that would work or not. The farther cameras I am using USB-C to USB-A extension cables for the longer runs (since I couldn’t find long cables with USB-C on both ends) up to 35’ on one, then a USB-A to USB-C adapter to connect to the T fitting. The first one I received was defective. It was returned and the replacement is working well. The panel does charge the battery of my Stick Up Cam. However, if you need to use many of the advanced features and the weather is cool to colder, 60 to 40 degrees it can't seem to keep the battery charged. It supplements the battery during the day so it stays moderately charged, but the battery still drains overnight and by morning you'll need to put in a new fully charged battery. So, it adds sufficient power to keep the camera working overnight till about 4 to 5 am. Then you'll need a second fully charged battery to exchange for the now depleted battery. This only works for this length of time if you have a sunny day. If it's cloudy then the panel will not work sufficiently to keep the battery charged. I'm hopeful the panel will work better in warmer sunny weather. Changing batteries, having to use a ladder to do so twice a day is very irritating. I have another Ring Stick Up Cam that also uses a smaller older solar panel and it seems to be working much better then this supposed improved one. So, colder cloudy weather might leave you a bit unhappy with this product. Overall it does charge the battery a little. ... show more

The solar panel started to charge within the first 30 mins or so without direct sun light. Very easy to set up and impressed with how quickly it charged the battery and held the charge at 100% all day even not in direct sun light. Highly Recommend!

I have a lot of motion going on with this camera and the panel has worked well to keep the battery charged.
