  • Excellent 4 Beginners and "Mature"
Color: Crimson Size: 8
So, I hate calling myself old or older, hence the word mature in the title! I love these skates. I grew up skating (not at an expert level). Stopped skating until a few months ago and I started off with the roller rink rentals. After a few months, I bought $75 skates (named after a city) for my girls and borrowed one pair for a day. They were awful.. no padding and I swapped them out after 20 minutes. I researched and asked around for brand names. It came down to Reidell and another, so I decided to give these a shot. I usually wear 9s in women shoes, flats and heels, but ordered a size 8 because that's the size I rented. They are definitely snug, but I don't want them to be too big because then they are awkward and feel loose like when you're wearing giant shoes and hope they don't fall off. The padding and fit are great, I was shocked at how thick the padding was when I first saw them. I can wear these for hours. Poor picture, but it's the only I have right now. Good luck! ... show more

  • Mama’s got a new pair of skates
Color: Ocean Size: 7
Loving these. Used to skate every Friday night at my local rink as a kid. Haven’t skated in many years, took my kid to a birthday party at a local rink and had the time of our lives skating all night. The rentals were brutal and left huge blisters so didn’t plan on going back right away. Hubby bought these for me as a gift so we can all go skating again. Super comfy boot, fast, straight, solid feeling, just like my Riedells back in the day. Quality. Now I’m back to all the fun tricks I used to do and teaching the youngins how to skate backwards, turn, stop, and dance. Got a compliment I think of, “How do you make your feet do that?” ... show more

  • Great starter skate/recreational skate
Color: Crimson Size: 8
Update: after breaking in these skates and changing out the stock bearings, I’m giving them 5 stars. They are comfortable, responsive and stylish. I’ve been skating on them for about a month (every other day for an hour or more) and love them. Who cares about a nylon plate? If I want to do park skating, I’ll worry about that then. Initial impressions- I grew up skating for hours on toy quality skates on our sidewalk and occasionally some rentals at the rink, so I am nowhere near a skate snob. When my kids asked to get into skating, I originally decided to go with Impalas for the $100 price point. While my foot technically fit, I knew immediately that they wouldn’t work. The pressure from that boot was painful to the point that I couldn’t wear them for more than ten minutes before I was packing them up and asking for a refund. These were my second choice. A higher price, for sure, but the quality seemed better and sizing was more straightforward. (I typically wear a women’s 9.5 and ordered an 8.) Right out of the box there was a significant difference between these and the Impalas. There was some stiffness in the boot but nothing overly pinched or felt painful. A few adjustments to the wheels and trucks and I was happily rolling away with my daughter. It will require a break-in period to get rid of that initial stiffness but they are comfortable and responsive to movement. One star off because I would have liked a metal plate for the price point. But given that I have no intention of hitting the skate park anytime soon, these are going to be more than enough to get me out at the local rink and hike/bike trail. If quality becomes a concern, I will update over time. ... show more

  • Quality skates!!! Definitely a upgrade from impalas
Color: Ocean Size: 6
It’s a great skate for someone like me that has wide feet. I could FEEL the difference as far as quality goes with these skates. I say this to say… if you are a beginner skater, even if you don’t buy this skate… think about the long term investment. Think about the quality of the boot or shoe with as well as safety gear. Beginners I would strongly advise a skate that has quality wheels as well as support for the foot as a whole and ankle support as well. Whether you buy these skates or not…I just wanted to post that information as a beginner myself. I’m happy I purchased these skates because for me my feet feel good while I’m wearing them. My first pair of skates were impalas and compared to these skates IT IS A UPGRADE Like OMMMG!!! You will have to break these in but after a few days they are great! The toes stops are adjustable. Mine didn’t come with a tool to adjust them so I went to lowe’s and purchased a 15/16 wrench 🔧 and that did the trick! Maybe think of purchasing toe guards. The boot is so pretty you’re not going to want to scuffle them up. Lmao I hope this helps someone! Happy skating friends! ... show more

  • Beautiful skates

The skates are beautiful for a skater which I am not...wanted to learn but tried them on and realized that sport isn't for everyone

  • The boot is stiff and will require breaking in
Color: Crimson Size: 7
The materials are quality as can be expected from Riedell. The price point and construction of this skate is great for a beginner starter skate or for something fun to add to your collection if youre a seasoned skater. I suspect it will hold together and perform far better than other entry level, synthetic material boots. I was attracted to the bright color combos to add to my own collection of black, brown and white Riedells however I don't want to go through the process of breaking in this exceptionally stiff boot. I am returning and will consider Riedells custom color lab for a future purchase. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Love these. Sizing was perfect. Comfortable. Easy to use. Lol. I have been wearing them out. I need toe covers bc I’ve worn the toe out. Buy these , but if your here then you already know what to do.💊
