I read the product description VERY carefully to make sure this bobbin would work with my Brother Innovis NS80E and it does! What a time saver these bobbins are! No need to wind a new bobbin when the one I'm using runs out... I have a whole boxful to draw from so that I can keep sewing! The cardboard core was no problem at all and although the thread is a bit thinner than the one I usually use, it sews beautifully without breaking. I especially like that the spent bobbins can then be composted ... a very environmentally conscious option. I love these bobbins and will look for them in black! ... show more

    • Thread snaps easily, does not fit Brother CS5055 Computerized Sewing Machine

I foolishly ordered this without looking closely at the specs. I can not get it to work with my machine - so far - which is a Brother CS5055 Computerized Sewing Machine. Now, this is my error, so I am not deducting any points for it. The bobbin is the same width as mine, but I need a 1.5 cm bobbin, and this is only 0.89 cm. However, as I was threading the machine, I noticed that the thread SNAPPED very easily. This was not from having the tension too tight. This was from the normal force of pulling that I use to thread a sewing machine. Upon closer inspection of the specs, I see it is 70D/2. I believe that means 70 denier with two strands of thread twisted. Denier is the weight (in grams) of 9,000 meters (or 9 km) of thread. It says it's almost as strong as 75D/2, but it was notably weaker than the other threads I have (all purpose thread spools bought at craft stores, not commercial sewing thread). So I am deducting 1 star for it's weakness. That said, I am sure you can sew with it, the stitches just won't be as good as if you sewed it with better thread. My problem is that now I have this huge box of bobbins that I can't use. I hate the waste. Even though it is slightly thinner than my normal thread, I'd still use it if I could. I plan to try wrapping this thread onto my regular bobbin spools. So this box of bobbin thread won't save me any time, but I hope this will work and it won't go to waste. ... show more

What a great little box of prewound bobbins. I ordered the white and they are very high quality. They work great in both my Singer, Juki, and my Brother machines. They are plastic and can be re-used by winding your own if you like, when they are empty. There are 144 bobbins in the box. They are L-style if you want to double check to make sure they will fit your own sewing machine. Very nice quality and these should last me a while! ... show more

I have a businesses that I have used pre-wound bobbins on my commercial machines with great results. I did not know they made them for home machines till I saw these. These seem to fit all of my machines and work well. You cannot wind bobbins as well as pre-wound bobbins and they even carry more thread that way, allowing you to sew longer with one bobbin. For years I’ve been using pre-wound plastic bobbins. I’ve always been aware that there were paper bobbins available, but I couldn’t imagine that they would work in my machine. When I saw these, I got brave enough to order a box. First off, I was surprised that although they’re cardboard, they’re very sturdy and the sides are really smooth. I ran my machine for about 45 minutes with one of the bobbins in it and I never had a bit of trouble. There was no breaking or shredding, and when I finished sewing, the bobbin was in the same good condition it was in when I started. I wouldn’t hesitate to order them again. ... show more
