  • It Does a Lot Better Than Using the XFI Router with the XFI Pods!!!!
I was skeptical at first. Buying stuff from Amazon is sometimes hard because you see the good reviews for a product but then wonder if there is something to the low ratings. Everything sold on Amazon has that. It makes you second guess a purchase until it finally gets to you and you see for yourself if you made a wise selection. That said, this router was an excellent surprise. It was very easy to set up and it is blazing fast. This router give you control back. Xfinity, for instance, will not let you configure their router's WIFI channels. You can only reboot them and hope they get you on a better channel. With the Reyee E5 I have lots of control. Some of it requires you to need basic networking knowledge to keep from mucking things up but it gives you total control over your network (makes sense since they started as a networking company for businesses). The most important point is that it will give you a very strong signal. If it doesn't work for you you need to know where to place it to make the signal optimal. Plus they have signal extenders that make it so you have no dead spots in your environment. With Xfinity equipment would drop every day multiple times. Thus far this is not doing that. I will buy Reyee products going forward. ... show more

  • Updated Review, issue was mine! Good speed and range!
Bought the Reyee WiFi 6 Router AX3200 Wireless Router to replace an older mesh network that was not really giving me the connection or speed I needed for a combination of several streaming devices and gaming computers. Installation was pretty straightforward and I quickly had this configured with seperate private, guest, and smart device WIFI SSIDs. At first, all was great, speeds were very good - including up to 600bps on an ax device on the opposite side of our 2800sf home. Unfortunately, once i added all of the smart devices in our home (about 40) to the Reyee, things were not so good. speeds looked good but there were periodic large gaps in the connectivity. Running a constant ping to another device on the network would show super low 2ms latency in general, but then would periodically slow down to 1-4 seconds, often culminating in full timeouts. Trying to use audio and video conferencing through the Reyee in this configuration was nearly impossible which becomes a problem when trying to use for work. I eventually had to put all of my IOT devices on a different wireless router simply to let this router work for about 6 devices. Update: I continued to get dropouts even after removing everything from this router but my work computer. Returned to amazon. If you dont conference call this may work for you, but i cannot recommend Update 2: After trying another brand router and continuing to have the same dropout issues, I was able to narrow the issue down to one computer on our network, and that was an M1 Macbook pro - which turns out to have a known issue with periodic network dropouts in the version of the Mac OS that was on my computer. After updating that computer, the network dropouts ceased! However, the new, non Reyee router was not meeting the speeds and range I had on the Reyee. After working with the phenomenal Reyee support staff, I am now happily back to using a Reyee RG-5E as my home's sole router, getting great speeds at all corners of my home. Will happily recommend this router to anyone! ... show more

  • Great
Very easy to set up. A little more than I wanted to spend, but better than renting from the cable company. Nice strong signal. No problems. I am happy with this purchase.

  • Better then Linksys
I've used Linksys and Netgear Routers in the past, the router this unit replaced is a Linksys WRT1900ACS, it's still a perfectly functional router and more then fast enough to support my 100mbps down internet connection but it simply lacked the Range I needed now that i'm expanding my smart home IoT devices, my Router is on a high shelf in the basement in the center of the house (roughly) as there are several things that needed to be hardwired to the router down there. I have one smart outlet on a fence post that just barely got like 2-4mbps down speeds on my phone at it's location on the old Linksys router, with this router my phone now gets 15-20mbps down speeds at that same location, I tested my phone using a Wifi Analyzer app with both routers running at a point near the fence post and the Linksys was roughly around -73dbm and this router was around -63dbm, so this definitely wins the range game compared to the Linksys, but it still wasn't enough range for my grand plan of IoT devices so I took advantage of another feature of this Router, it's support of Mesh Wifi, so I bought the Reyee RG-R6 2-pack to go along with it, talk about easy to setup, I simply plugged the 2 of them into power, went to this router and pressed the button on top, within minutes both of the RG-R6's where paired and then I moved them to their final locations at the far opposite corners of the main level of the house, I now have full internet speed EVERYWHERE inside the house, all over the front yard out and into the street(it's about 50-55 feet from the RG-R6 that is closest to the street) and i'll have to see how far away I can get in the backyard when it's not the middle of the night. Some things I would mention in hopes it helps others, Leviton Smart Switches and Outlets are easy to reconfigure the wifi to switch onto this, but my Arlo Video Doorbell had to be Deleted and re-installed in the Arlo app, it just refused to find the doorbell when I did the Change Wifi in the app, wasted like half an hour on that, so save your time, delete the doorbell and add it as a new device. There are also a few settings you'll want to set in the web interface under the Wifi section, this can be set to broadcast 2.4 and 5Ghz SSID's or you can toggle it to Dual Band Single SSID, doing this toggle to Single SSID means no more having to switch between your 2.4 and 5Ghz SSID's as you get too far away from the router and the 5Ghz drops out, when the 5Ghz drops you'll seamlessly switch to 2.4Ghz, you'll also wanna toggle on the "Band Steering", this lets the router choose what devices to push to 5Ghz and which to keep on 2.4Ghz (which are mainly old devices and IoT devices) based on the capabilities of the device. Now the only outstanding question is how reliable will this be, only time will tell. Oh and one last thing, my Wifi Calling works with this router, it didn't work with the Linksys I mentioned at the beginning of this review. So thats another plus. EDIT: 7 months into ownership and this thing is still going strong, haven't had to reset it or pull the power like you do on most routers and the speed, still kicking but, can transfer video files over wifi at 60-85 MEGABYTES (not Bits) a second, this is the same or faster then a USB 3.0 external drive plugged directly into the computer. ... show more
