This is not the kind of reacher you use so that you don't have to bend over, but rather the kind you use when you need to reach up high or reach behind something. It is way too long to use if you were using it to pick up trash so you don't have to bend over, but as far as accessing stuff stuck under the bed, between the washer and dryer, under the couch, behind a dresser, or whatever else, it's perfect. Product is unique in that it is one of the longer "grab it" devices, but it can also fold up to be more compact for storage. Last feature is an advantage but also a disadvantage so in order to fold up it needs joints. Joint anchor points are plastic and the the fastening point is a metal clip. When to reach for something that I thought was well within the weight capacity of the device. While retrieving the item one of the plastic anchor point snapped May have been a defective piece of plastic may have that the object was heaver than what I thought it was. Was disappointed but VERY VERY pleased with the company response. They are sending me a new one -- no questions asked. With customer service like that am more than willing to give the product a second try. Note -- How about making this extended reach grabber without joints for those of us where storage in not an issue ... show more

I love the length and durability and ease of use. I bought it for after my back surgery, but I use it all the time anyhow. Lol It is the prefect length for me to not have to bend over to pick up items from the floor. I'm 5' 3" tall so this was the length that worked for me.     • This is not as useful as I was hoping as the length makes it harder to use in the shorter ones
This is my second grabber bar and I was hoping that it would be more useful than the first one because of the extra length. After using it for several weeks I find I hardly use it at all because the length makes it very difficult to maneuver and throws the balance way off for me. It's great that it has magnets on it and folds down to a reasonably small size but I simply find I don't use it nearly as much as the 3-footer. You may like it more than I but for me the kind of sits in the car most of the time ... show more
