Description

Messerschmitt Bf109 G-6 plastic model kit From the Manufacturer Designed by Messerschmitt and Lusser in 1934, the Bf 109 was one of the first modern aircraft of the era. Features such as a liquid-cooled V-12 engine, a closed canopy and retractable landing gear made the Bf 109 a huge improvement over WWI fighters. The "G-6" variant, which appeared late in WWII, had a more powerful engine with superchargers and also came with many field adjustment kits. These kits allowed the G-6 to be fielded with extra guns, rockets, bombs or extra fuel tanks, making it a highly versatile fighter.

  • Good kit of a good subject. Reasonably priced.
This is a reasonably priced kit compared to the $100.00 kits of the same plane out there! Lots of pieces, definitely not for novices. The only complaint I have, is there is no pilot figure! Hence the 4 star rating.

  • My thoughts on the Revell Bf-109 G-6
Good kit for the most part. Prop blades are a joke so be really careful taking them off spur... Lot's of little parts that could have just as easy been molded in. Panel lines are great Love the detail that Revell has done for this kit. Spinner is great except weird panel line that will have to be sanded or filled. For the price really cannot beat this kit. No other 1/32 scale kit is as good as this kit. Decals are really great just Wish Revell would make more options than two planes from the same pilot. The clear parts are what they are real clear and better that the other 1/32 scale kits. The three tails that is included gives a person the option to make at least 5 different G-6 planes even a G-14 for everything is there to do just that. I would of given the Revell kit 5 stars if it was not for the prop blades and the flimsy weird looking ammo bumps for the main machine guns. Now that I have installed them they do look better than what is on other kits in the same scale yet they are missing the bottom flange so I just sclupt the flange. Wings are in more parts than I am used to yet they went together real nice so I see future kit's coming for G-10 Or k-4 by the way Revell made the wings. I bought Three kits because this G-6 is that good. { Instructions suck out-loud } 'Yes they do- Nothing is marked on the spurs so when numbers are called out be careful. Instructions call out wrong parts at least three times in which cause intermittent cussing fits. {Test fit parts to be sure... Revell Has done a good job so If you are a novice this kit might be real tricky so compare to other kit's you have or Book's whatever it takes for that instruction sheet suffers from major suckage, but the G-6 when completed is outstanding compared to the others on the market ... show more

  • A Worthy 109
This kit offers some fine features - very good engraved surface detail, posable flaps and control surfaces, optional parts for early and late G-6s, good parts fit, and reasonable cockpit detail. (Some aftermarket or scratch-building would benefit the pilot's office.) The decal sheet is comprehensive and well printed. There are many 109 model kits, and this one is a worthy addition to a crowded field. ... show more

  • Good kit with some warts
Pros: Price, versatility. The price point for this kit makes it very attractive, additionally this kit can be used to build anything from an early production G-6 to a G-14 since it includes early and late tails as well as the standard and Erla canopies. Recessed panel lines and detail is well executed. Cons: Questionable engineering makes it more difficult to build than it really needs to be, some accuracy issues. The whole cowl assembly process is fiddly comapred to Hasegawa. Additionally the cowl bumps (beule) for the MG 131 breeches are undersized and the spacing between the guns is incorrect (too close), the oil cooler is shape is questionable as well. For many these are not big issues but for 109 buffs these will require aftermarket parts to address. The multi-piece landing gear are another questionable engineeering decision, the strength seems questionable (mine collapsed and broke after a couple of years on the shelf). There are few more head-scratchers in the way the kit goes together, seems like ease of build took the back seat on a few occasions Overall a good, but not perfect representation of the most produced fighter of WW2. ... show more

  • makes a nice standalone, an awesome one
Beauriful...my only problem is that there's very few 1/32 figures to build a diorama around ( that I can find, and i tried to get my hands on the four or five figures there are ), makes a nice standalone, an awesome one, in fact - if you nail the paint job...like I think i did...plenty of schemes and info online if you really want to bring your "Defence of the Reich" to life... ... show more

  • Never another Revell model.
Never another Revell model. I have built many since the 1970s. Landing gear is garbage. No engine when over half the build of the model is completely unseen, makes no sense at all. Buy plenty of putty because you are most certainly gonna need it. Dont be fooled by picts.of models assembled with upgrade kits making this model 3x purchace price. 1/32 scale there is no excuse for this model to be so poorly made. ... show more

  • The parts are perfectly formed with no flash.
I just moved, so I won't be building this for a while. In the meantime, I will order a sheet of Hakenkreuz decals for the tail. To me, the Bf 109 is the most beautiful plane ever built.
