These washable paper towels are fantastic. They are very absorbent, easy to use. Any time I need to wipe something (a spill, my hands, the apple I just washed, dishes, ...), I reach for them. They are better than regular paper towels. I realized that I didn't have enough of them, when they were all in the wash and I had to use an actual paper towel. I hated it. So I bought more and now I'm never out of them. And they help me create less waste. One extra unexpected bonus: when my kids (still little) dry the dishes, a regular sized dish towel touches the floor while they are drying. With those, they have to use a fresh dish towel for every dish in order not to get our dog's hair and other yuck onto the clean dishes. I don’t think I can ever go back to using paper towels! These are great quality and durable. I use them to dry produce and clean up messes in the kitchen. Holds up well. I love that I can just throw them in the wash and they are ready to be used again! I highly recommend them!

I've come back to rewrite my review now that I've learned the trick to prepping unbleached cotton: you have to boil ("scour") them! Initially my review expressed how disappointed I was in the lack of absorbency these had even after washing over a dozen times. However, just recently, I stumbled across an article that talked about how to prep unbleached cotton/hemp/bamboo, tested it out, and now I barely recognize these rags! The process is as follows: - Add rags to a large pot. - Fill with plenty of water so that rags are not cramped together. - For every gallon of water, add 2 Tbsp. washing soda (soda ash) and 1 Tbsp. of soap/detergent. -Bring the concoction to a boil and boil for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally. - Once finished, strain rags, allow to slightly cool and then rinse thoroughly with warm water. - If you followed this process with clean rags, all that's left to do is machine dry or hang dry! If you started with dirty rags, like I did, you can then toss them in a normal load, wash, then dry! - Final step: enjoy your now very absorbent rags and repeat process anytime you purchase unbleached cotton/hemp/bamboo products (such as cloth diapers liners!) ... show more

These small towels have held up well in use and through washing, the bound edges have stayed bound and not unraveled as other towels have. They don't serve especially well as paper towel replacements -- I don't use mine for cleaning up oily, greasy messes, but rather for wiping up watery spills, and they work well for that. As other reviewers have pointed out they stain quite easily, but that shouldn't make them unusable. Utility towels, as these are, shouldn't be expected to stay pristine. In use they will get dirty, and remain stained. The stains don't offend me, but I might just stain them preemptively, perhaps with a pot of tea, so that future stains won't be as noticeable. My primary complaint about them is that it took multiple washings for them to become absorbent, and then they hold on to that moisture to the point of being sopping wet and needing to be hung up to dry. All in all, good, usable towels -- I'm happy to have them. ... show more

I had no idea that a rag could get me so excited! I am beyond obsessed with these lol!! My boyfriend is probably so tired of hearing me rave about these! I was looking up paper towels when I saw listings for reusable paper towels and decided to go for it! I searched for days and I’m so happy I went w these! Definitely way more pricey than other ones but soooo worth every penny!! I can’t explain it... that are just the perfect size and texture and thickness! I don’t have any other rags like them! I have designated half of them to be used as napkins which I plan to dye a different color to keep them separate and the others are so perfect for around the kitchen! The best part is that they rinse and clean sooo quickly and easily because of the waffle pattern. Nothing stays on them. You can wipe fine the counters or clean up messes and quickly hand wash it out and they ate dry pretty quickly! It’s not at all like a cotton wash cloth that’s thick and heavy... these are nice and light and so easy to use! Definitely have rarely been needing to use paper towels now! They also bring a really cute natural look to any kitchen! I want to order even more of them! Ppl seem really upset about their absorbency and I will say they absorb more when they are wet than when dry and washing them has increased their absorbency but that hasn’t bothered me at all! They still feel very absorbent against you skin and I find they work perfectly for my needs! I was and dry them in the machine too w no problem! ... show more

They are not as absorbent as a paper towel. I used it to wipe up liquid. I rinsed it and wrung it out and the next day it was still damp. After two days it is still damp and starting to smell. You have to put it in the sun to dry. Maybe there is some type of chemical fire retardant that will come off after washing. Some people say don't put it in the dryer or it will shrink., then how do you dry it. It is not healthy to have a damp towel sitting around. Waste of money. ... show more
