This little device runs what is called NES on a chip, so it plays NES games. The catch is that it only plays the 400 or so games that are on the device. If you do a web search on "400 in 1 NES" you will likely find a list of all the games on the device. The interface for selecting a game is Ok (but not great). I would have liked to have some way to search or at least mark items as a favorite (so I can cut down on the list). It does feel really good in my hands and really feels like a GameBoy (even though it plays NES games). I will say that this has x and y buttons, but I am not sure what they are for (except to get into the hidden test mode). I also noticed that you cannot really play a game while charging the device (more on that in a sec). It comes with a replaceable battery (it has a label that says "BL-5C"). I did not test if it lasts 7-10 hours (but my guess is that it lasts long enough that you won't be charging it all the time). It does come with a cable for charging the device, an extra controller for two players to play, a cable for attaching to a TV (it's an RCA style cable, so you might need an adapter to make it work with a TV without these inputs), AND a nice case for carrying the device and its accessories. It's currently selling for $16 which I think is really worth it. This is probably best for non-technical folks looking for a little nostalgia or elementary aged kids. The flaw where you can't charge it while playing might be a feature when talking about kids where you want to be able to get them off the screen for a bit. ... show more
