  • Packed with thousands of retro video games, finding them is a bit of a challenge however
If there is an arcade or home console game that you played in the 80s or 90s, chances are you'll find it in this little system...eventually, that is. Unfortunately, very few of these games have the names that they appeared under in the USA. There is a search function, but I had more luck scrolling through the options and stopping on games that had a recognizable thumbnail image. That said, once you find a game, most seem to appear and play how you remember them from the arcade or your home consoles. The controllers are no great shakes, but get the job done. And the HDMI connection is a big improvement over a lot of these retro video game collection systems. If you're up for a bit of searching, I think you'll enjoy the gaming nostalgia. ... show more

  • Perfect!!!
This is absolutely perfect for vacation, my kids love their Xbox and there’s no way I would bring an Xbox console on a vacation. That said I did want them to have a little bit of video game time so I got this thing and it’s perfect.

  • Fun!
I love that I can play all the game I played back in the day. Its easy to use and connect to the TV to play. I found it a little more difficult however to fine the games I wanted to play. I enjoyed scrolling through all the different games to find something to play.

  • Stopped working
Super bummed. The whole family was excited to use it. We got it working and then it just quit after 10 minutes. We couldn't get it to work again after that.

  • Blast from the past
The media could not be loaded. Honestly, I'm not sure how this exists. And at the price?! It's crazy you can get so many games, plus 2 controllers, and the little accessories needed for this price. It's not perfect, but dang it offers a lot of fun. Not to mention, it has a pretty decent interface for navigating all those games. Not excellent, but is responsive and works well enough. Simple and easy to figure out how to get around the screens. There are instructions included as well. they are just so-so. But you really don't need them. What you do need, that's not included is a power block for the USB to power the device. Most folks have them for phones and other stuff that uses USB power. It plugs into HDMI for your TV, then into power (USB), that is it. You are ready to play! Onto the games. There's a lot. More than I would be able to play in my lifetime I think. If you're wondering if the hits from the good ol' days are there....they are! There's a menu selection for things categorized by the gaming device they were born on. Also many arcade style games from the 80's and 90'. It's pretty amazing. Plus exiting and getting back to the home screen is easy too. No shutting down or restarting like some other retro gaming collection device options. All sort of games. Many classics. A bunch I've never heard of and not in English. But still entertaining for a try. The controllers are very reminiscent of the wireless PS2 I think. They have all the same/similar buttons and all seem to function well. 2 AAA batteries are required for each controller. I play less than 10 feet away but have no problem with connection or response when moving around. All in all, like I said, I'm amazed at this simple little thing. And again, it's not necessarily perfect. But - the selection of games and overall controls and function are great. To me, it's a no brainer if you're interested in revisiting and enjoying the games of the past. ... show more

  • Huge selection of games, terrible controllers
I've been really enjoying this game console. It was super easy and intuitive to get it connected to my TV and set up so I could quickly get started. I wish the controllers were rechargeable instead of battery powered, but having replaceable batteries can also be nice if you don't want to have to take a break from playing to charge them. When I first started up the console I was super overwhelmed by the number of games, of course the advertised 20,000+ games would be overwhelming for most! Once I learned to sort the games by console type it got a lot easier, and it has a search function for games that works pretty well. A lot of the game titles are accurate, but a lot also seem to be bad translations, but you can usually figure out what the game is from the thumbnail that shows when you scroll past the title. The translations are also kind of fun and interesting so I don't mind this, but I could see it making it difficult for players trying to find a specific game if the game title is incorrectly translated. Most of the games I've tried seem to work, but there have been a few that just go through the opening title of the game, repeating the opening with no option to actually play the game. It definitely takes a little trial and error because lots of games have multiple versions (for different countries) so you might have to try a couple to find one that works. My biggest complaint is the controllers - the bluetooth connection is very poor, and certainly does not have the 10 meter range advertised. I usually use them from about 15 feet away (maybe less), and they work somewhat but freeze/stop working frequently. When it freezes I turn the controller off and on again, which gets it working, but this is very annoying in the middle of the game and I have to do it so often sometimes that the games become unplayable. It freezes less often when I sit closer, but that means sitting on the floor or the coffee table instead of on my couch so it's not even worth it if I can't play comfortably. It's really disappointing to have this otherwise pretty cool console ruined by such bad controllers. ... show more
