This is (by far!) the best item I've ordered this year!! Users of the Raspberry Pi are likely familiar with running old Nintendo Entertainment System games on an emulator ("RetroPi") and there are even kits that give you the "look and feel" of the old NES. This product takes all the chore out of "building your own", providing you with all the hardware (including 2 controllers) and software already set up with a VERY quick boot and menu system to access and play the games. All the work is done for you!! And it even looks like a miniature version of the old NES!! It's a neat little package with close to 700 games already installed for you. And if you don't find what you were hoping for, you can download more ROMs onto a MicroSD card using your computer and then plug the card into the box to run them. But, honestly, I couldn't think of a game I used to play on my old Nintendo that isn't already pre-loaded on this box. Although the instruction booklet is extremely brief with horrible spelling and grammar, you don't really need it. If you're familiar with the NES and using the controller then you'll be up-and-running in minutes. Just plug everything in, turn it on and navigation will be pretty intuitive. For games you're unfamiliar with, a simple on-line web search will bring up user manuals for most (if not all) of the games. The system includes the main unit, 2 controllers, an HDMI cable, a brief user manual and a power adapter. The best part of this system is that it runs off of a standard 5V USB connection. If you have a Micro-USB cable, you can feasibly plug this into any USB port to power it. This makes it a great choice for taking it along when traveling or camping!! Anywhere you have a USB port and a monitor with an HDMI port you now have a complete gaming system!! About the only thing "extra" they could have added is a headphone jack and/or bluetooth connectivity for sound (in case your monitor doesn't have speakers) and a carrying case. That would have made this system absolute PERFECTION! But it's already amazing just the way it is. This has a ton of games on it, including a few hundred you've never heard of before! Its a cute little console, but the controller cables are a bit short. To be honest, you can easily emulate any of these and have a better experience, but this is still a fun lil toy. The controllers arent quite the same as the original NES controllers, a bit taller and less wide it feels like. Its also fine as a cute little conversation piece. This is the 3rd system like this I've ordered, though one of rhe others was handheld. I have to say all around this one is superior to the other two! So far every game we've tried has worked flawlessly. The biggest improvement when compared to the others is that it doesn't lag. Both the handheld and especially the other TV one like this had an issue with lagging specifically on the Mario style games and it made it impossible to Play right. This one doesn't lag at all and considering the games you're working with the graphics aren't bad either! This has been awesome for the whole family. Me and my husband both love Mario, he loves duck hunt, I love Zelda, my son loves Mario and the chip and Dale rescue rangers games and my daughter likes to play anything that's 2 player This is an amazing investment. It literally hours or even DAYS worth of fun. Super easy to set up and use. It plugs right into your TV and you don't need to be tech savvy at all to install it. Got this hooked up and all of its emulators are knock offs that don't even go to Nintendo 600+ Retro knock offs. Really disappointed in this. Avoid if you're looking for nostalgia.

I'm not really into old-school gaming, but my husband and daughter seemed to enjoy playing around with these games. The console itself is very small. It fits in one hand. It was easy to hook up to our TV via HDMI. The first game we tried, Aladin, was disappointing as far as how the animation. But some of the other games were much better looking, such as Super Mario 3. The controllers were responsive and the music is exactly how I remember it-midi music. There are actually over 600 games. None of them were duplicates. There are a bunch of folders that contain lots of games under each theme folder. Action Games Racing Games Shooting Games Puzzle Games Sports Games Overall, if you are looking for nostalgic game play, this is for you. I'm personally into my Oculus VR and REC Room, but my family enjoys many of these games. ... show more

playing video games today you forget what you started with and all that came with the growing pains of technology. seeing so many titles i grew up playing brought back so many memories, minus the cartridge blowing! lol! sharing the gaming memories with my kids who are getting serious into gaming is a pretty cool venture with this! glad this is HDMI and not RCA like other companies. cool find! ... show more
