Description

Experience survival horror like never before in Resident Evil village. Elevate each desperate fight to survive by showcasing the most realistic and terrifying graphics to date. The all-new title is the eighth major installment in the storied Resident Evil franchise, which established the survival horror genre nearly 25 years ago. The title is currently in development using Capcom proprietary Re engine, used to create vivid gameplay experiences in hit titles such as Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Devil May Cry 5. With hyper-detailed graphics, intense first-person action and masterful storytelling, the terror has never felt more realistic and inescapable. Set a few years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan winters and his wife mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. Just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again. Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from the Resident Evil series, is reacquainted with the couple and horribly disrupts their life, spiraling Ethan into chaos. A devastated Ethan finds himself in a remote snow- capped village seeking answers after being thrown into an entirely new nightmare.

  • Best RE in years! PS5 review.
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
This review is for the PS5 version of the game. This game is amazing. I played the demo on my gaming PC but end up buying it for PS5 since imo there aren’t that many PS5 games out yet. On PC the game runs and looks amazing on my Ryzen 5800X/RTX 3080. I had it installed on a Gen 4 NVMe SSD and I have 32GB of 3600mhz G.skill Ram. It’s a beastly PC. Ultra settings 1440P 165 fps locked. On PS5 believe it or not the game actually loads EVEN faster than on my PC. It has Raytracing on both platforms. On PC I play on a 1440P 27in 165hz monitor and on PS5 I use an LG OLED 49in 4k TV. The game on PS5 looks just as good as PC imo. It runs basically right at a locked 60 fps with Raytracing disabled and still mostly a locked 60fps even with it enabled at dynamic 4k HDR. The gameplay itself is a lot like RE7 but improved upon in every way. It takes the best of old school RE games and the best from RE4/7 combat and combined them to make one of the best RE games to date. Tons of replay value here. The game itself if you explore took me around 10-12 hours to beat and I’m very OCD and take my time. That may seem short but all 10-12 hours is fantastic and literally every RE game ever made to date is around that same length. If you enjoy the old RE games, 4 or 7 this is a must buy imo. One of the best game so far this year. Great puzzles, scares, villains, and even a solid story this time around with top notch visuals. I included pics of the case inside and out for those curious. Thanks for reading. Please toss me a like if this was helpful for you. ... show more

  • Short, but ever so sweet!
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
This game is a great continuation of Ethan Winter’s story. Even though the game takes an average 6 - 8 hours to beat, I enjoyed every second of it. Capcom has turned down the horror a notch and delivered us a more classic RE experience. Don’t get me wrong the setting and enemy encounters are still creepy as hell, but there wasn’t as many jump scares as there was in Resident Evil 7 which is good for some, but disappointing for others. I loved the story, and the big twist at the end really blew my mind. In classic RE fashion, the story and origins weren't revealed until the end of the game. I love when games do this because they leave you speculating on what is actually happening. If I can offer you some advice while paying this game, take a second to look around and explore. I know you may rush into finishing the game, but looking for treasure or gathering ingredients for the Duke was very fun to do and can be very rewarding. However, As some others have said, the FOV was a bit of an issue for me. The survival horror FOV was okay in RE7 as combat wasn't as common and if there was combat, it was just an enemy or 2. RE8 on the other hand focuses a lot more on combat meaning the FOV can make it kinda difficult and hurt the eyes. Regardless, Village is an incredible game that brings us to the end of Mr. Winters’ story. ... show more

  • Awesome
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
Truly amazing run off of the resident evil series. Some gave it bad reviews but honestly the different story line made it entertaining and fun all the way to the end. Outstanding graphics and a amazing soundtrack make this a major keeper for resident evil fans. The PS5 graphics are unbelievable if you know how to use your TV properly. My wife got it for me for my birthday and the $30.00 price tag was great as well. ... show more
