Let me say this with keeping snakes. The pieces even when broken up, can remain chucker...that is easier to remove if your snake attempts to swallow it while eating a prey item...I hope this helps new keepers watch your animals during feeding.

    • Wear gloves when you spread these!
These were impossible to pull apart without water. After soaking them a bit they started cooperating. They are not very kind to the skin on your hands, after pulling apart the first one I had to get gloves. My corn snake likes it and is able to burrow the way she likes.

I don’t know when they became moldy, just that when I received them they were covered with spots white mold. Other than that they were exactly as described

The media could not be loaded. My pet loved the soft texture of this substrate, I loved the packaging of this brand, it is so detailed. Neatly packed and delivered fastly. They also have a contest, Im participating that. Best one worth buying
