  • LEADING SAFETY PROTECTION: The Eclipses composite 4+3MM latex palms and 6MM breathaprene backhand with raised injected rubber ridges provide extra impact protection, while the neoprene cuff and 6CM 360 Duratek strap give excellent wrist support.

  • Review of The Eclipse Glove After Two Weeks of Usage
I wanted to give you guys a review of the Renegade Eclipse Assault Gloves. Note, I have used the Eclipse Assault in daily practice sessions and two games on the Pro level over the last two weeks. Size: If you are used to, or have tried, the Fury series of the Renegade gloves then you should order the Eclipse gloves one size bigger. I used to wear the gloves of the Fury series in size 9 (without Fingersave), however, the Eclipse series fits perfectly in size 10. I prefer a glove that has a Negative Cut and I think that Renegade has done well with the Eclipse. As a reference for the sizes, in gloves from Adidas and Nike gloves I usually wear a size 10 as well and the size 10 Eclipse fits perfectly.

Cut: Unlike their Fury Series, Renegade is using a Negative Cut for their Eclipse Series and I love it. So far, Renegade has been super consistent with their gloves. The Negative Cut makes the Eclipse more comfortable and they feel like a second skin around your hand.
Backhand: The backhand of the Eclipse gloves is a huge improvement compared to the Fury series. The breathaprene provides good air ventilation for your hands. People who are playing in temperatures of 85 degrees Fahrenheit or 30° Celsius (or higher) will treasure the backhand because it makes playing in the heat way more comfortable. Also, the molded rubber on the backhand provides great accuracy, but also good protection, whenever you are forced to punch the ball. Palm: For the palm of the Eclipse Series, Renegade uses a German EXT contact grip, which gives you an excellent grip and control over the ball. During the two weeks, I also had a few practices during the rain. A lot of gloves have the problem that they can’t keep their grip during rainy sessions. The Eclipse glove had no problems maintaining their grip no matter the weather. Something that surprised me was the durability of the palm. The palm of my Eclipse gloves still looks fantastic despite being two weeks old. Also, after two weeks they still have the same grip as of the first day. I have had other gloves from big-name companies that looked terrible after just one week. On the pictures, you will be able to see the gloves brand new and after being used for two weeks. Wrist: Another huge upgrade from the Fury Series. The strap feels comfortable and provides great stability for the wrist. Itself the entrance and the strap puller make it super easy to get into the glove without having to pull it like crazy. The Eclipse has probably one of the best entrances I have seen while maintaining a durable strap.

Overall, Renegade has made a big step into the professional level with their Eclipse series. The first two weeks with the Eclipse glove have been fantastic and I can’t find anything to complain about. The gloves have a wonderful grip, great durability, and they are very comfortable while providing great stability to your wrists. The glove is definitely worth their money and will make you feel like a professional without having to spend a lot of money. ... show more

  • Very Reliable and Comfortable
Color: Helix (Non-Fingersave) Size: 9
The gloves are really reliable as long as you take care of them no chips off the grip or anything after a week of training. Also the guards for the fingers aren't as strong so it doesn't reduce your finger movement. Overall great gloves 🧤😀

  • Top-of-the-Line Pro-level Gloves for Half the Price of a Big-Name Brand
Cut: "Evo-Negative Cut" - This is RGK's new negative cut, and it feels amazing! It's the very definition of "fits like a glove." Unlike RGK's traditional negative cut gloves, the Evo-negatives have some sort of tacky material on the sides (in-between the fingers) (I think it's called Breathapene?). Supposedly the material allows for ventilation while still keeping a solid material, which may help with control at the margins. Honestly, it sounds like magic, but maybe it's just tech I don't understand. Either way, they feel great on the inside as well! Also, there's no need to order a size bigger to fit these on - they slipped on with absolutely no struggle. The Grip: OK, here's the main reason why I wanted these. The grip (RGK calls it "German EXT Contact") is pro-level grip, and the Eclipse line is the only line they have which has this level grip. To be honest, RGK's Giga grip is already really good, and I've been perfectly happy with the gloves I have which have the Giga, but for the price that the Eclipse line are going at, there was no way I was going to turn down the chance to buy a pro-level grip glove at about half the price of a smilar-level Reusch or Nike glove! My main concern is how well they'll hold-up against the very abrasive older-generation turf I play on (plus I don't have the best diving technique). If they wear-out quickly, despite my best efforts to care for them, I'll update accordingly. Ultimately, for this price, it's low-risk/high-reward. Additional Note on Palm Design: New to RGK's design is the "Duratek" extended palm puller, which extends up into the bottom part of the palm (see pic), and has a ridged rubber. I assume this is to add more friction? The middle part of the extended puller is more Breathapene material to add more grip for when you miss catching the ball directly on your palms. Backhand - The knuckles are protected by these rubbery speed bumps, the material on the backhand feels like a wetsuit, and if you can't tell from the pic, the insignia is a raised rubber material. I'm not sure if the raised RGK insignia is a good thing/bad thing/no-thing, but at least it looks and feels cool. Comparison to other brands at this price point: There really is no comparison at THIS price point - and that's the biggest selling point, I think. From a quality/performance standpoint, the best comparison is probably the Reusch Pure Contact II G3 Fusion, or the Nike Vapor Grip 3, but those are selling for $100+ (and do they have a no-questions-asked 30-day return policy like RGK?). From a price standpoint, these gloves are selling at a sub-level quality price. Basically, if you swapped a Reusch/Nike/Adidas label on these gloves, they'd probably sell at $120. Bottom-line: For a Weekend Warrior such as myself, I have no reason to buy such amazing gloves, but at this price point, how could I turn down such an opportunity? P.S. RGK provides old-school, mom-and-pop shop level customer service, which nowadays is so rare and highly appreciated, and it's made me a loyal customer for life. When my kids' hands are big enough, they'll be shot-stopping in RGKs =) ... show more

  • Good quality gloves
Color: Nova (Fingersave) Size: 8
My son has been wearing these for his high school and winter club seasons. He likes the gloves a lot and the grip has held up well but the finger saves are a little weak - almost all of them have broken.

  • Comfortable, very durable
Color: Riptide (Fingersave) Size: 10
I had bought these for a professional combine and I couldn’t have asked for a better glove. These fit well and were very snug and fingers and wrist. I used them through the three days of games that I had and didn’t have any wear. They are now showing some wear around the bottom of my palm after using them every Tuesday and Sunday for the next 3 weeks in game. They still have grip even though you can noticeably feel the difference it’s something you'll still be able to play with and feel confident with them on. Buying these over and over again when I need a new pair. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Great glove, finger spines are fragile
Color: Phantom (Fingersave) Size: 11
I love the glove itself. It is grippy, nice amount of padding, looks good, seems durable enough. The only problem I have is the 2nd time wearing them in game the left index finger spine broke. I have a problem with this for a couple reasons. 1. It shouldn't break within 2 games. 2. This is a safety issue. Not only is it not working as advertised, it creates a 90 degree break point that is more dangerous than not wearing spines. The one saving grace is that they are replaceable, I'm sure at a decent cost. Overall I would love to keep using these gloves if they continue performing as they should, but if the spines keep breaking I will be forced to switch brands. ... show more
