  • Works very well
I like writing. I write notes on paper book all the time, and it helps me remember stuff just by the process of writing it (even if I never read it again). In recent years, I've been trying to move this practice to digital age by using a stylus with my ipad air. I didn't like it as the pen was too slippery. I tried using matte screen films to make it better. While it did make it better, it was still not anything like writing on paper and I finally gave up on it. As a long time kindle user (I've had many since the very first generation, and everyone in my family has one), I've been eyeing the kindle scribe recently. Most reviews talked about the feel being very close to writing on paper. So this prime day I bit and got myself a Scribe. However when I ordered it, they were out of stock on the model with premium pen, so I had to get the one with basic pen. After using it, I do agree with those reviewers - writing on scribe is far better than writing on ipad. It is still not writing on paper, but it is VERY close. I think I will keep writing on this. BUT, I kept thinking about the premium pen and if it is useful. So I went ahead and got this pen with eraser. After using it for a week now, I am very impressed! It works as well as the original kindle basic pen for writing. The kindle pen has a flat area near the tip that is supposed to help with the grip (and it does help), but I like the overall feel of this one (which is all round, like normal pens) better. The tip is slightly harder than the kindle version, but it is just a different feel (maybe a little louder). I replaced the tip it with the spare ones that came with the Kindle's basic pen, and it works just fine. I am going to keep the kindle tip for now because it is quieter, but honestly there isn't much difference. I wasn't sure about the eraser when I got it, but I find that I am using it all the time (instead of the software menu/tool). Overall I really like this pen and will continue to use it. With the eraser, this is far better than my original kindle pen (which has now been cast away to the package). ... show more

  • Bigger/fatter than the common generic pen that looks similar, works fine, no barrel button
This looks very much like a similar design that you see everywhere, but that pen design is smaller and thinner. I prefer the thinner pen, but I am unusual in that: this pen is by no means fat, just fatter than the super-thin pens I usually get. There is no barrel button, but that is OK because I do not use barrel buttons. There is no magnet, but that is fine because my BOOX device is not metal. The eraser is too fat for my taste -- I prefer thinner pens partly because their erasers are thinner, too, which gives more accuracy when erasing. Most people though seem to prefer normal-width pens like this pen, and it works fine, as long as you do not care about barrel buttons or magnets. It comes with an adhesive pouch, but I have not used the pouch. ... show more

  • Works Well
Overall, really happy with this. It works great and seems sturdy. Definitely a good choice. It does exactly what I needed it to do without any hassle. Highly recommend for anyone considering it. Four stars!

  • Better than the OG Boox pen
This is a definite upgrade to the original pen that came with the Boox Note Air 1 e-ink reader. It's more effective at low pressure, lighter in the hand (which I prefer for long sessions), and has an eraser, which the original lacked. Unlike the original, it doesn't have magnets in the barrel of the body, so it doesn't stick neatly to the side of the reader. However, it does come with an adhesive-backed pouch to stick it into, which, if you're throwing the whole thing in a backpack, is more secure anyway. ... show more

  • No match for the Kindle Scribe pen
This pen works, but in comparison to the pen that comes with the Kindle Scribe (especially if you chose the version with the added function button) they are very basic, and much less comfortable to use. First off, the manufacturer boasts that no battery is needed. True, but this is an achievement of the Scribe (and attention, I talk here ONLY about the experience with a Kindle Scribe, the pen might work better with other devices) and not of the pen itself. Secondly, it is far lighter and sits less well in your hand than the Scribe pen. Thirdly it's mine glides over the surface with no resistance which takes away the "real paper' feel that you get with the Scribe pen Four, it does not have the function button which enables you to switch between writing, erasing, highlighting, etc. And lastly, it feels and looks really cheap. I really do wonder, what makes it so expensive, as when I look at it, my estimate would be that it should cost about $5. I returned it. ... show more

  • too light
This pen feels terrible in my hands and is too light. It writes well enough, but erasing was hit or miss.

  • Feels Natural and Light, Like a Real Pen.
This pen is fantastic for taking notes, doing homework, writing, and drawing. It works well with the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. It doesn't have gestures or smart features like the S-Pen, but it's perfect for writing and drawing. The eraser function works well and the pen is light yet sturdy, and won't slip out of your hands. It feels like a real, normal pen and it's so easy and convenient to use. I cannot recommend it enough. ... show more
