Well made carrier and plenty room for my Mimi. I got sick of her having to slouch to get in smaller ones. She's approx. 14" high and long. She hopped right in and didn't want to come out. Nets are thick (I wish they had roll down covers), not like screen and the zippers seems to be strong. The bowls are nice and work well and they're not those awful fluorescent colors. Though, I wish they had lids. The pockets are generous. Because I take her to work with me sometimes, I needed something like a tiny crate for her to rest and play in and this will work wonderfully. She can stand up with plenty of spare headroom and turn around just fine. I should be able to secure it with a seatbelt for the ride. Cleaning it will be another story. I don't anticipate it getting really dirty, but I think I'll just spray it with a cleaner and hose it off, if needed. Before purchasing I asked if the bottom was solid. I'm not sure what some think 'solid' meant, other than they might have thought 'not made of net'? But who would put net on the bottom? Anyway, it's NOT solid. It's made out of material and although she only weighs 4lbs, I can still feel and see her feet through it. She does not seem uncomfortable at all, but I would say that a pet 8lbs + would definitely sag. I'm going to cut a piece of plexiglass I have here, glue thin foam to it and wrap it in something cozy, for the bottom. I searched long and hard and returned a different carrier. I'll never get all the features I want in one, so I had to settle. It's a good choice and if it fails, rest assured I'll be back with an update. ... show more

I bought this carrier for my almost 18 year old cat, to use as a hang out spot, as well as a carrier to use when we move and to take her to the vet if need be. I love how big it is! I love the 2 pockets and that it comes with 2 collapsible bowls! I also really like the colors. Setting it up was very simple, just align the ends of the metal bars while pulling the black sliding piece back on the one bar, and push up to snap together. My cat is very particular and skittish. I’ve bought soo many different cat houses and boxes and cat perches.. all of which ended up being returned because she refused to go in/on it. So when I set this up today to allow her to try it out and get used to it, I didn’t have high hopes. I opened up all of the openings, put one of her blankets in there, and a few hours later I saw her laying in it! The only possible negative I can see is the bottom being soft/without support. I haven’t used it as a carrier yet, but I feel like when I do.. the bottom will droop from her weight and it will be more like a hammock than a carrier. That is my only concern. I did however, also purchase a folding luggage cart that I am going to attach this carrier to with Velcro to make it a carrier on wheels/pet stroller. (I saw all of the pet carriers on wheels here on Amazon but they were too small- I wanted a more spacious carrier so she could also use it as a hangout spot, so I decided to create my own🙃) All in all, I love it so far, and so does my girl! ... show more

I got this for my 22lb Maine coon and he has some room to spare which is great! I love that the top opens; that is actually the easiest way to load and unload him at the vet. There is a shoulder strap and also two handles on either end of the top which are great for moving the carrier into the car. When putting together it’s a little hard to get the top metal pieces of the frame to align, so I don’t know if I’ll be breaking this down to put away or just leaving it set up. I do have issues with strength in my hands so it may not be a problem for some. The pouches are helpful for treats, rabies tags, pheromone spray, napkins, and a notebook for vet visits. I haven’t used the food bowls but love that we have them in case we ever do a longer road trip! BUT THE PAD… the pad that comes with it is awful. It unzips and inside is like 1/4” of actual foam, not like bedding foam, but foam foam, like used for packaging. Also, my little man had an accident at the vet after they took a urine sample so I washed the pad twice to make sure the smell came out. I removed the interior foam when washing. It’s useless now; the zipper fell off and the seams are coming undone. I’d already purchased a thicker comfier bed for the bottom that also has a waterproof lining in case accidents happen, and the pad that came with the carrier is getting tossed in the trash. I still would recommend this as the construction is sturdy and the zippers on the carrier don’t seem fragile. It’s a well thought out design otherwise. I love that I can buckle the carrier in for car rides, and that there are also clips near the zippers to “lock” the zippers in case you have an escape artist. Just plan on buying another bed/insert if you’re looking for comfort for your pet, or to have waterproofing for accidents, or if you plan to ever wash the insert that comes with it (because it won’t last). ... show more

I have a 6 lb mini goldendoodle and this was perfect. She’s light weight but tall. My pup usually sleeps with me but we needed a crate for traveling that was easy to fold and comfortable for her to stand and also lay down. This was exactly what we wanted. Super easy to fold and to put together, think of portacrib but much easier! It’s also easy to carry both folded and with the pup inside. I love that it comes with portable bowls for food and water and a waterproof area to put them. The pad is thin but very soft, we added an extra blanket but my dog didn’t mind either way. She slept in there a couple nights and would also use it to get away and rest. The color is pretty. And I should mention my dog doesn’t like crates, it took her a few days to want to go inside but after that she would go in on her own and actually liked it. Note: my little dog is not destructive, so I don’t know how well it would hold up for a dog trying to scratch or chew it. Very happy with my purchase. ... show more

Purchased this crate to transport a new 8-week-old Australian Shepherd puppy home. The drive was about 20 hours total and I wanted something that could be belted in and secured. I purchased a couple collapsible crates to test out and this one appeared just a bit bigger and sturdier. The zippers had some warping to them (did not lay flat), but it doesn't seem to impact the functionality. I especially liked the top opening as it was less of a battle or escape risk to put the puppy in from the top than from a side, as she couldn't stand tall enough to get out. As for being belted in, the carrier has two small straps along the front edges of the crate. All these do is keep the belt in place, so the belt doesn't slip off. It's not as secure as I was hoping for, but there was no issue. Just be sure to purchase a seat belt extension (about 14"+) as the seatbelt in my SUV was not long enough to wrap around the crate. Other than that, the included pad is a bit flimsy, but the puppy slept soundly many of those 20 hours. Also, please note this crate is too large to pack in a carry on when collapsed. Its also a bit awkward to walk with it over your shoulder, but I'm fairly petite. The carry on each end make this very easy to carry between two people, if needed. Puppy is now 10 weeks and we hope to get another month or so of use from this before she out grows it. A great option at this price point! ... show more

well my cat hates it but I dont. can confirm it can go in the washer and cleans great. but if you have a cat who likes to protest poop like mine, i would definitely take the bottom liner out. a puppy training pad fits in perfectly. my cat spent a good hour in the car trying everything in her power to escape to no avail, so its sturdy. it also secured into the car really well and didnt move at all during travel. my only complaint is that I feel like calling it portable is a strong word. because its so big when its fully expanded and pet inside, it can be hard to carry and gets heavy quickly. I found that even with the strap and the handles my cat was being bounced around a lot as i transported her in and out of the car which made her uncomfortable and angry. I wouldn't recommend if you are going to be doing any walking with it, but the size is great if its mostly staying in the car. ... show more

Purchased this carrier for my cat. It is large, however, in case of an emergency 2 cats can fit. It is sturdy and has a pocket for my phone and small wallet. Perfect for vet visits. My kitty crawled right in and took a nap.
