  • Good looking microwave in my RV. It functions well and was easy to install.
I ended up replacing all my kitchen appliances in my RV and switched over to stainless from black. As a retired building manager at Cal Berkeley, I’m very worried about fire prevention. I removed the open flame stove and gas oven in my 5th wheel trailer to help mitigate the possibility of fire. This microwave was as close as I could find to fit above the stove. It was about a 16 of an inch too narrow so I added a small piece of walnut to the face frame and all is good. It looks good, and works well too and at a very reasonable price. it’s not a 1500 watt model so it cooks a little slower then the microwave at home. I ended up replacing the stove and oven with an induction cooktop and put in a drawer dishwasher by Fisher and Paykel. The refrigerator that came with the trailer I pulled out and replaced it with a Samsung French door model RF18 in stainless with an ice maker. I also added a real nice stainless toaster convection oven by Breville. Finally, to complete the stainless look, the hood above the cooktop was also replaced in stainless steel. The kitchen in my RV looks and works better then my house. Having been both a graduate student at Berkeley for 6 years and an employee for over 34 years, I’m addicted to Peet’s coffee, a Berkeley tradition and an every morning must have. I bought a Jura S9 super automatic coffee machine and it is sitting on my counter so I feel at home on the road. Both my wife and I are happy with all the upgrades including this microwave. The coffee machine is plumbed to water so I don’t even need water to get my morning coffee. I stagger, blurry eyed, into the kitchen and simply press a button, within 30 seconds, I have a hot delicious cup of Joe under my nose. ... show more

  • A perfect replacement
What can I say? It's a microwave, and it works. It was the perfect fit to replace our original supplied by the OEM (after taking careful measurements), when the original began experiencing overheating issues. My only reservation is that the original one mounted flush in the cabinet, whereas this one by design sticks out an inch or so from the surrounding mounting kit. It took a bit of getting used to, but no biggie. Installation of a replacement couldn't be any easier. Assuming that you measured accurately, it's just four screws to pull out the old one and unplug it, then reverse the process with the new one. Took under 5 minutes. Shipment was quick and on time. ... show more

  • You might have to make an adjustment to your microwave opening in your RV.
We purchased this microwave to replace an 11 year old Dometic Microwave that came with my 2008 Freelander Rv. I would have purchased the upgrade to that microwave except it did not have good reviews. I found this one the Recpro RV microwave here on Amazon. The Dometic was an inch all the way around bigger then this one. We had to add in a small piece of wood to the top part of the opening to get the grid to fit in securely. It did come with the grid as pictured. I purchased because of it being 1.0 cubic inches. I really would have like this to be 1100 watts. With that said it is only 900. I find that I have to microwave twice to get the item heated as I would like it. I also use the 30 second button a lot now. My other microwave did not have that. I have used it all week and find it works pretty well. I did have to figure out how to set the clock correctly. I did not understand about hitting the zero button then the number for the time that you need. I found that also for the timer. Once we got that figured out we used it and then just used the buttons we wanted. I used it to defrost my meats for dinner and it did fine. Meat defrosted great no cooked spots or frozen spots. I heated my oatmeal in it as well. Made my cup of tea with the beverage button and then use the 30 second button for additional heating. Got it on time and hubby and I set it in place. It did take a while as we had to make an adjustment as this was smaller by an inch all the way around then the original one. So far it did what I needed it to do. ... show more

  • Nice RV microwave
We installed this in our RV because our other microwave quit. It was fairly easy to install after a few cabinet modifications. Looks nice & clean with the installation kit. Works well for smaller microwave & convenient for daily use.

  • Direct replacement fit wise
Great looking unit, fit perfectly in the existing space. While the heat (wattage) is much better than what we replaced it with, it is about 2 to 3 cubic inch smaller (the old microwave had a 14" turntable, this is a 12.4" and was taller inside than this one), but not a huge deal since it's just doing general reheating in our RV. ... show more

  • To short and Instructions in a horrible place
Our microwave went out in our RV so we need a new one and we bought this one. Microwave it self is good quality cooks a bit faster then the one it replaced (13 year old) but came about 2 inches to short to fit the space. Open the box to find no instructions. I looked online for instructions couldn't find any So had to figure it out myself about 40 min of struggling. After getting it all set up, I open the microwave to find the instructions. WHAT A CRUEL PLACE TO PUT THEM. ... show more

  • Quiet
It functions as any other microwave. It was extremely easy swap out from the old one, took my husband about 10 minutes to pop the new one in after he removed the old one. The most remarkable feature is it is so much more quiet. We thought it was defective at first, but it functions as it should. The front panel is dark and hard to read, but I memorize my most popular features and all is good. ... show more
