This is absolutely perfect for swim lessons. My son is a tall thin almost 4 year old with a long torso. He wears a 4T and this wetsuit was a perfect fit. I told him it was a “Black Panther” suit and since he is crazy into Marvel super heroes he shouts “WAKANDA FOREVER” when he puts it in. He has been wearing it since winter and is the only child in his swim school not shivering. His first few lessons his lips were blue and he was shivering like crazy (so was everyone else). I was afraid that he would begin to dislike lessons if they made him so cold. Since I have purchased this wetsuit- it’s no longer an issue whatsoever. It’s not as stinky as others reviewers claim. Just smells like a wetsuit and I’m pregnant with a HIGHLY sensitive nose and it doesn’t bother me. All in all- I give quality, value for price, and effectiveness- 5 stars! After researching quite a bit, I bought this wetsuit for my kid who is learning surfing this summer. Before getting the wetsuit, he could stay in the water for only 30 minutes before he began to shiver. With the wetsuit, he could stay in the ocean for hours and still feels warm. He loves the wetsuit so much, and I regret that I didn't buy it earlier. The size I got was "XXL" and it fits him well overall. Bought this for a lil winter Bahamas trip to keep the kiddos warm of the water was chilly. So glad I brought them along. The kids wore them and could definitely tell a difference in the water temps. I bought this for my son's surfing class at SoCal (San Diego). This is his first wetsuit, and my son is really excited about the new 'costume'. He tried it last month (mid December) in our community swimming pool, just for fun and it's warm according to him, warm enough for the current water temperatures, which is a good sign for the upcoming months.
