  • What a fantastic keyboard
Color: Classic Black Size: Huntsman V2 Pattern Name: Linear Optical Switches
It seems like I'm always on the hunt for a good keyboard I can use for work. I work from home, from two different locations, and wanted a second keyboard so I didn't have to keep transporting peripherals back and forth, so I picked this keyboard. Holy crap, what a fantastic find. The keys have a non-slick, tactile feel to them, with a stiff enough feedback that minimizes typos without causing undo strain with long typing sessions, with a soft feel at the bottom of the stroke. The keyboard is also quiet! Not whisper quiet but very very muted. I also like the volume wheel that works like a charm. I haven't played with the lighting, because that's really not important to me, but I'm sure it works great. The wrist rest is also super comfortable, and has a magnetic edge so it 'clicks' into place against the bottom of the keyboard. This is another great feature in an already fabulous product. If you get the impression that I love this keyboard, then you are correct. It is BY FAR the best keyboard I have ever used, in my 35 years as a computer programmer. Well done, Razer! ... show more

  • Excellent Keyboard
Color: Classic Black Size: Huntsman V2 Pattern Name: Linear Optical Switches
This is my first time using a keyboard with optical switches. I took me a little while to get used to the feel of the linear switches, but once I did I found it great for typing, which is the main use I give it. The keys are fairly silent, and I really like the lightning. I hate it when they are too bright, like my laptop, which are alwats off beacause of that. I also like the soft wrist rest. The only drawback I find is that the feel and sound isn't consistent throughout all keys. The bigger keys aren't as silent and feel a bit wobbly and cheap compared to the smaller ones, specially the space bar. It could be one of the best keyboards if it wasn't for that. Still, I'm pretty satisfied with it. ... show more

  • Excellent Keyboard
Color: Classic Black Size: Huntsman V2 Pattern Name: Linear Optical Switches
My Logitech keyboard died a week before Thanksgiving. In an effort to escape Logitech's software (and modern hardware quality control), I decided to give the Razer Huntsman V2 (w/ Razer Red switches) a chance. Sure, it's not a custom mechanical setup with exotic Japanese switches, but it gives a premium enough feel. I love the sound dampening, the smoothness of the keys, and the relatively short actuation distance. It's not silent, per se, but it's the quietest keyboard in my house (including various laptops). I've seen comments online suggesting the keys don't light up bright enough. I'm partial to more subdued keyboard lighting, and I can vouch for the fact that I haven't had to dim the board much. Other brands use lighting that glows substantially around the keys, instead of just through the letters. Some of Razer's marketing images show bright halos around the keys, and some show none at all. In practice, they glow a little at the top of each key, but not very much at all. The only serious downside I encountered was with Razer's software. It's not very intuitive in general. But my specific complaint is that it isn't easy to use external tools to switch game profiles. I really wish these hardware companies would open source their software! Now, for why I returned it in a week. The Huntsman V2 Analog popped up on sale over Black Friday weekend for only a few buck more than I spent. I figured it was a no-brainer upgrade--how wrong I was. The analog version has added lighting around the base of the board (it looks great!) and offers analog functionality on every single key. Plus it has slightly stiffer springs. Unfortunately, it has none of the sound dampening of the regular Huntsman V2, and the keys give a loud, drum-like clack when bottomed out or rebounding. Analog, on a keyboard, is a bit of a gimmick, but one cool thing the analog version offers is adjustable actuation points. This gives you the ability to tune your typing and gaming experience. I agonized over the stiffer springs and loud typing. Ultimately, I returned the regular, quiet Huntsman V2 in favor of keeping the loud, but adjustable, Huntsman V2 Analog. Though I very seriously considered keeping both!! ... show more

  • Overall a pretty good Keyboard for your gaming or typing needs.
Color: Classic Black Size: Huntsman V2 TKL Pattern Name: Clicky Optical Switches
So, If your looking to buy a good keyboard for games like Fortnight, COD, And other fps or mmo games or just for typing, I would probably recommend this keyboard but I will be talking about my experience and my opinion for this it . First of all, I like the sleekness and design of the TKL form and factor with razer's Black design. The Responsiveness is nice with its 8000 Hz polling and its brightness and RGB is a nice touch but I wish it would be a bit brighter on max brightness in the synapse but I'm still fine with it. I really like how razer added a wrist rest for the keyboard, because its ergonomic design and comfort helped my wrist relax more while gaming or typing, but I thought you could attach the wrist rest with a connector or magnetic attachment but you just put it there. When you click on the buttons however, I thought that the noise was too loud but I guess that was a problem on my end because I did buy the clicky switches. I did not make any macros yet but it has macro recording if you need it. Another thing is that you need a type A USB port not a type c port even though it says detachable type c, You have to attach the type A side to the monitor and they type c side to the keyboard. The durability is good and any oils and greases, wont affect it unless if it is an excessive amount. This also applies to water too. This also has a "gaming mode" and "typing mode" you can turn on in the synapse app. Overall this keyboard is Very good for me and I will be using it for a long time. (Brightness, Hz polling, macros, Gaming mode or Typing mode, RGB, and more can be customized in the Razer synapse) ... show more
