Cracked in the barrel in several places only within the first month of owning it. I do have to say Rawlings has been great in offering a replacement, but we have been waiting for about a month for the replacement. We emailed them yesterday asking for tracking and was told it could be another 3-5 weeks. ... show more

    • An Icon For Sure!
Style: -8 Size: 30 Inch
This bat won out as the one both my son and his dad decided would be *the bat* for travel ball this season. They wanted a bat that seemed to be more durable and that most kids wouldn’t have. In a sea of Hype Fires, the Icon is a breath of fresh air, with its icy white barrel and overall look. We got the 30/-8, which is appropriate for my 11yo son. Many of the kids in his age group at little league and travel ball are comfortable using a bat in the 30/-10 range, but there are a few that feel better using the -8. This bat is still very light feeling, with a nice large barrel and good Rawlings labeled grip. The large barrel makes it feel like you can’t miss. Compared to my son’s old 2022 ADV Hype travel ball bat, this is a step up. There is a slight incremental increase in his batting distance, possibly due to a trampoline effect on the barrel. Incidentally, he practiced with it on a hot day and he launched that ball farther than anything he had ever done in casual practice before. There was a slight break in period, but nothing too significant. I think this is a great option and definitely comparable to other bats of a similar price range.     • Great looking bat. Big sweet spot.

My son plays travel ball and loves it. We've tried various brands from Marucci, Easton, DeMarini, etc. We never really needed to buy the latest and the greatest but we try to not fall too far behind the technology. But this is the first time for him to get a bat that's brand new this year - and this Rawlings ICON is the first Rawlings bat we tried. Oh man...and it's simply awesome. Wow. I'm actually worried that my son's smile is permanently stuck on his face now... His favorite bat used to be his trusty Cat8 hybrid (the Connect) - it's few years old but the alloy/comp hybrid bat is sturdy and has good isolation of the vibration. It's a good looking and feeling bat to hit. But the Rawlings...oh man...it's looks so striking when you first pull it out. The white paint and along with black and gold design around it is just awesome. We took a day to break in the bat - just soft tosses and tees, then moved on to pitching machines. The ICON feels really good. The two piece isolation is great. The bat makes a beautiful ping sound slightly lower pitch then what we are used to with the Cat8. ICON feels great when you don't hit it right on the sweet spot. It just feels great no matter where you hit it, as if the entire bat is the sweet spot. Overall, this is a phenomenal bat. Looks great. Feels great. Sounds great. I will always recommend you try the bat first somewhere though but for us, this is a huge step up from the old Cat8 and we love it so far. ... show more
